Damn, this game is a huge letdown.. I really expected more of it, I played for ~3hrs and I just dont get the claustophobic feeling I got when I played DS1 or DS2 for the 1st time.. I'm glad I didnt buy this one ( I did buy DS1 and DS2 )
Just tried running this game tonight and I am running into an issue that might have been mentioned here. My GPU stays in 2D mode (405Mhz) when I start the game. Any suggestions? Using Nvidia 310.90 driver

Interesting.
Try windowed mode or alt tab out and back.
My 7870 changes clocks and the game is about 90-200 fps all the time

I like The "wow factor" of DS3.
Exploding space ships, autmoatic trucks high speed crossroads, space explosions and cities.
The game is dumb but really fun and good looking.
Going to test Alien soon

I thought in games cool scripted moments are forbidden in the humps these days . Thats why i like playing Call Of Duty singleplayer (just because of the "moments") . And DS3 also doesnt disappoint.
yeah. Like what?
There have to be action moments. Controllable more or less and Dead Space 3 delivers some crazy shanannigans

Its not like i everyday rappel down mountain, escaping exloding spaceship which nearly crushes me This combined with pair of good speakers and subwoofer, its just pure entertainment .
Fuck cinematic moments. Leave those to the "cinematic sequences" that are shown on TV or on the cinema.
This game had one thing that made it stand apart, the weapon building system. They just had to build a Dead Space game around that, instead of retard BOOM-KABOOM-PRESS x NOT TO DIE ON THE CIENMATIC SEQUENCE 1!!11 painfully linear game with pointless story and characters.
And aside from the terrible linearity we even get that on the destroyed space fleet part, but as soon as you land on the planet the game pretty ceases to be a dead space game.

I see those crazy cinematic moments as a reward for some demanding gameplay (as it should have been).
30 seconds of cinematic space explosions is better than no space explosions !

The remains of a space fleet stranded in space 200 years ago that could be made explorable... but no, let's make it a 30sec splosion yo!1

Fuck it. i started playing it on impossible with a derpad.
the game runs amazing as the previous two. maxed out with in game smaa on gtx260 works flawless at my native res.
Its good that the prologue is derpy. it gives you a few minutes to go through denial and acceptance that this game is an action shooter set in a gory sci-fi universe, not a dead space sequel
as such it works, action third person shooter with some nice scenery.
Im pretty much just playing for the sci-fi setting i guess. already took a ton of screenshots. what can i say, im a sucker for futuristic metalic and rusty worlds.
Hope most of the action takes in such scenery and not lost planet antartica wannabe planet.
I'm desperately trying to find the courage to keep playing but I'm so fed up of cinematic action carousels that honestly I'm struggling more than expected.
This one at least has decent shooting and no Gears-like dumb cover system but still, seeing as how this franchise started off great with DS1...it's such a shame. We never asked for this.
I had to stop playing because of this issue... wtf. seems its very widespread according to google.

I, and several other people have encountered a bug with the smaller, kinesis doors in Dead Space 3 - the pc version. The doors that require kinesis to open have a looping sound effect that does not silence until the door is opened. Then, it's only quiet until the door comes back down.
Provided is a link to a forum of EA / Viceral Games customers who are experiencing the issue.

Well, EA said they'd remove all scary and tense moments and turn it into a cover/shoot game since many gamers were too scared to the the first and the second game..... ( )

Have you tried running the game with administrative privileges (Vista and later Windows OS's, right click and select run as admin.) and do you have any overlay that could conflict, Fraps works (Just keep it updated just in case.) but I don't know about others.
Other than that I don't really know, settings should auto-detect so there shouldn't be any problems there.
(Could try to re-download too in case it's a damaged file.)
Why don't you try grabbing the Dead.Space.3.Limited.Edition-ALI213 release (no installation needed whatsoever) and applying their crack, version 2? I had a flawless experience with that combo.
