Never got the bucket from the little guy
I've gotten the amulet and book randomly just like any other drops.

You can find the bucket in the Elven Prison (same room as where Arinths locked up). Theres a button you can push near the door in the same room which opens up a secret room along the staircase you just came down. In that secret room is a chest which contains the bucket helmet.
Playing on Elite level now but still havent found the amulet or tablet.

Must be random these drops - got bucket & spell book in both mercenary & veteran modes but no amulet yet - weird! Equipped a lot of those rings for +15% magic item dropped & +40% gold dropped - very useful!
You wanted a Miracle, I give you the F. B. Eye !!

Ahah! If you wait for the old man to finish speaking each of his lines, he will clear the log. If you keep fast-forwarding his lines, the game will hang when the cinematic showing him destroying the logs appears. Bastards!

To actually teleport to the mysterious area, all you need is the mysterious stone tablet, and to enter the chant manually "columnarius sectorus" (press enter at any chant shrine and type columnarius sectorus, then press enter). You will be teleported to the mysterious area.
The bucket is required initially to open the first door. That leads to the first set of enemies which are lvl 40 prairie dogs. They can be fairly tough, especially if your level 35 or lower.
The book or token opens the next area, I forget which. This area holds evil versions of your whole party. They are all lvl 40 with 40k HP each (they arent limited to a grp of 4 either). Don't let their level fool you... they can easily rip you a new asshole. After slaying your party twins the final set piece is required to be in inventory to proceeed in to the next area.
In the next area, you will see a bunch of friendly Npc's. none of them have anything important to say, except for 2 of them. One gives your trivia questions on Columbia which leads you to winning a sword. Another NPC give you a set of questions (that bastard), but he annoyed me, so I didn't stick around to get the reward (let me know if you get a reward).
When you come to the final door, you need to equip all 3 pieces of the mysterious set. Stand in front of the door and manually enter the chant "REQUO FURTIVUM IXO". This chant was derived from the numbers and letters on each of the set pieces. Inside the final room, you get tons of treasure and a few set pieces, and the bucket turns into a pumkin head..... I'm not too sure what to do with some of the treasure as they have useless stats on them, like +50 looking stupid.

None of the Mysterious set pieces are random.
***BUCKET***
Take the teleporter to the Lost Valley of the Azunites in Act I. Then head east (Directly east) till you find the entrance to Arinth's prison. on your way towards Arinth's cell, look for a switch on the wall (Will be shown as a blue dot on your mini map). the switch will open a small room with a chest holding the Mysterious Bucket.
***TOKEN*** (Necklace)
In Aman'lu, talk to the Bar keeper and gain access to the arena via elevator in the back storage room behind the bar. Finish all of the challenges and collect your rewards for each level won. One of your rewards will be the token.
***BOOK***
This piece of the set is a reward from the quest Lore of Aranna in Act III. To recieve this quest, talk to the Scholar in the north east corner of the third town. Most likely you will have picked up most of these books on the coarse of your travels, so it makes things a bit easier.
The books are located in the following areas:
Vol. 1 - Snowbrook Haven Living Quarters
Vol. 2 - Vai'Kesh Sanctuary, a short way from its southern exit.
Vol. 3 - In Aman'lu from Alar'ithil
Vol. 4 - In Aman'lu at Altorn Hall
Vol. 5 - In Aman'lu at Twylis's House
Vol. 6 - Eastern Greilyn Jungle, where you meet Vix
Vol. 7 - Windstone fortress, in the Western Gatehouse
Vol. 8 - Temple of Xeria
Vol. 9 - Temple of Xeria
Vol. 10 - In Aman'lu from Eolanda
Vol. 11 - In Aman'lu next to Eolanda
Vol. 12 - In Aman'lu Magic Shop
Vol. 13 - In Aman'lu Inn
Vol. 14 - In Aman'lu near Eolanda
Vol. 15 - In Aman'lu Magic Shop
Vol. 16 - In Kalrathia at north east side of town
Vol. 17 - *Ruins beneath Mushroom Circle in East Greilyn Jungle
Vol. 18 - *Ruins beneath Mushroom Circle in South Vai'lutra Forest
Vol. 19 - *Ruins beneath Mushroom Circle in South Garden of Ancients
Vol. 20 - *Ruins beneath Mushroom Circle in Ruins of okaym
*Books 17-20 Require Amren in your Party
The book will be awarded after you talk to the quest NPC TWICE upon finishing the quest. Talking to him once gets you nothing (Greedy Bish).
**** The Mysterious Stone is dropped by the ??? guy that appears randomly throughout the game. Slay him to recieve the mysterious stone tablet.

Ex. I had Deru in my party at the very first, and when I got Tarr and the Dire Wolf, I sent her to the Inn. Well I'm Act I Chap 9, and I see a door I need a Ranger for. I go back to get her from the Inn, and there are 2 portraits of Lothar, and none of Deru. If i click on the first one, I get a error sound and a double cursor (the in game and windows) and the following error msg when I Crtl-Alt-Del out of the game. "Out of memory. Please free some memory, then choose retry" It's a smartheap library error. I have 1 gig of memory and 400 megs or so free. I'm probably screwed, but any help would be cool. Thanks all. |
Any Ideas on this? It's really starting to piss me off, because Characters I need for sidequests aren't available half the time.

You have a very unfortunate problem that has not yet been addressed in a patch. I havent found a way to fix this problem, but when it happened to me early on, i found a way to prevent it from happening again. Its a little annoying, but I save my save game files from DS2 directory in seperate folder just before i switch chars. Its pretty sad that i have to do that to ensure my that my chars wont vanish, but it has worked for me so far. I havent lost another char since, so the bug doesnt appear that often. If this happened to you recently and you have only saved once since you switched party members, you can access a secondary save file in your DS2 directory, which will enable you to go back to your previous save.

Well I figured out that if I band and disband each of my chars enough times, I can evenually get to the one I want. It sucks becuase I also have to view them to make sure it's the right one, since who the Innkeeper says they are and who they really are arn't the same.

MY guess is that your missing the Eva quest in act 2, considering you havent finished everything in the vai'kesh forest.
*****SPOILER*****
Act 2: Side Quest 18: Evangeline's Folly
Location: After getting Evangeline into your party, return to the Southern Vai'lutra Forest (south) teleporter and speak to Mylandril ( The soldier on the ground beside the wrecked wagon).
It appears that the soldiers that were guarding the caravan that held the Aegis of Death were kidnapped by the Vai'kesh after the attack. Evangeline understandably wishes to retrieve them from their captivity, but you don't have many clues to go on; Mylandril mentions a Vai'kesh stronghold in the Vai'kesh forest, but doesn't have any specifics.
If you recall the portion of the game where you had to follow the Vai'kesh Prophet, then you may recall that there were three caves with locked doors in them which you weren't able to pass through, each of which was apparently guarded by a Vai'kesh on the other side. The first of these is in a Small Vai'kesh Cave near the end of the Vai'kesh Forest, almost equidistant to the Vai'kesh Forest (South) and Western End of the Arinth Ravine teleports, near a small, narrow bridge. If you head into this prison, kill the minibosses, and free the soldier inside, you'll learn a password.
To the east of the Western Arinth Ravine teleporter, you'll find a Large Vai'kesh Cavern, within which is the second prison. The soldier inside doesn't have any more information than the first one does, although she does repeat the same Mario reference as before. You can still loot the rest of the enemies here for a decent amount of treasure, though.
Directly to the north of the Eastern Arinth Ravine teleporter, you'll find the entrance to the third and final stronghold. Clearing out everything in here will allow you to rescue Jessic, which, in turn, will conclude the quest.

Nope, I actually just got that ( word for word) out of a newly released Guide from those pretty bastids over at Gamespot. This is hands down the best free guide currently available for the DS2. I can't see any of those plain text FAQ's beating this guide either. The Guide is complete which is amazing if you considering the actual amount of time the games been on the market.

Anticasper wrote: | Thanks Randpo indeed that was the last sidequest in act II i still needed to do
Now for one more sidequest in act III the one between the kalrathian nexus and the morden riders. |
Act III: Side Quest Seven: Sartan's Suspicion
Location: Speak to Feltan in the tavern in Kalrathia while you have Sartan in your party.
Feltan will tell you that Osric, the no-good filcher that ratted Sartan out in the Windstone Keep, is believed to be a spy for the Morden by the good townspeople of Kalrathia. Since Sartan still has a bit of a chip on his shoulder about being imprisoned in a pit, he'll want to track Osric down and see precisely what his story is.
Osric dwells in a Mysterious Cave in the Eastern Plain of Tears, directly to the east of the teleporter and incantation shrine in that area. When you bring Sartan to meet him by knocking on the door within the cave, he'll automatically kill Osric, only to learn that he was actually a good guy! Oh, those wacky half-giants; what kind of mischief will they get into next?
Anyway, after chopping Osric down, Sartan will have to make amends for his misdeed by finding a hidden Morden arsenal that's somewhere nearby. You won't get any clues beyond that, so you'll just have to keep your eyes open!
Blow these doors open to free the prisoners.
You can find the Morden Arsenal in the Ruins of Okaym, to the west of the teleporter, off the beaten path. Only Sartan can break down the front door of the arsenal, so bring him along and head inside to find three doors leading in three different directions. The northern room has a secret room concealed within with a bit of treasure, while the southern and western doors lead to the prison complex. If you poke around, you'll find the jail, and you'll be able to free all of the prisoners by shooting the bombs conveniently placed next to their doors. Be sure to hit them with ranged attacks!
With the prisoners rescued, you can grab the treasure from the cell, then return to the soldier that informed you of Osric's purpose in the Mysterious Cave. Doing so will end the quest.

Ok this is the lamest game I played in years...It makes Diablo look like the god of all games compared to this.Graphics haven't changed at all...that didn't bother me at all if there weren't people here admiring the "wonderfull" graphics...yeah right...aside from a few decorated cave graphics, the rest sucks...no loading screens you say...well this would be a step forward if we were talking about dungeon siege 1. Casting spells locks like shit...have any of you summoned a creature...nice pixel shading isn't it *burp.
But graphic aren't the primary things that make a game suck. Many of diablos features were introduced...like the saving system which make the repetetive and the fact that you can play with a single profile at a time sucks...also the new item randomizing makes the game realy suck(ex:in act 1 the blacksmith quest you are offered a very powerfull item or sword,i don't remember exactly, and when i get to aman'lu in act 2 i get a fucking lame light crossbow).I remember diablo being fun but this game sucks bigtime.
Aside from a few movies that look like the ingame engine compared to the diablo ones(a game that has appeard a few years ago) and the storyline which doesn't offer anything and makes you think that at least the first game didn't pretend to have a interesting and imersive storyline the game is very dissapointing practicaly leveling down everything good that the first part had to offer and making it a BIG DISSAPOINTEMENT.
I understand that tastes are diferent from one person to another but this game is a "downgrade".
