Just finished this and I must ask what people find so amazing?
Whats the point of bragging about choices if a random JRPG has more choices affecting the story?
Nope really disappointed in this considering all the praise. Also it's ridiculously easy and requires very little thinking...
its an interactive experience, not a game per se. you approached it completely wrong. Just think of it as one of those books wihere you ocasionally get to pick what page to continue on. this is the video game version of that. Its not amazing, but its worth experiencing it if you enjoy the setting. It being easy just supports that. it's like sitting down to watch an episode of walking dead on tv, but you have to twidle your thumbs a bit to get it going
Once again I had several books like that as a kid and the choices would always make a huge impact on what happened. In this game the choices are just pseudo choices, in 90% of the cases your choices means shit and that my big problem.
I'm not really complaining about the gameplay itself or the story, I'm just mad at the fact that what I do don't really change the way things play out. Give me real choices and I would love this game
Sounds like you're asking for multiple branching storylines, all with the depth and quality of what has been produced here. Do you realize the amount of extra resources that would take? Not to mention that only 1/xth of your playerbase would experience story arc #57 that you poured your heart and soul into. It would also be impossible to make sure each story is as good as the next, so some people would play the game and think that it was OK, and others would believe that it was the greatest narrative ever written, simply based on which story arc they followed.
But the main reason is simply the extra amount of time it would take to write all these different stories, and still keep the same high level of quality as the original. It would be like writing 25 different books. This is the reason games have a main story arc with small choices that alter the details of the story (Who dies, how people feel about you/stuff, etc.) because you can complete that given a reasonable amount of time and resources instead of taking 10 years to write all the different stories.
During an interview on IGN's Up at Noon, writer Gary Whitta teased more Walking Dead from Telltale sooner than later. “You won’t have to wait for season two to play more Walking Dead,” he claimed.
"I can tell you what you already know, which is season two is coming. There’s not much to say because it really is very early…it’s a way off," said Whitta. "But, knowing that it’s a way off, and knowing that people are hungry for more walking Dead…there may very well be more Walking Dead from Telltale before season two. We may have a little something extra for you between season one and two.” Whitta continued to tease that something is in the works right now “that will make the wait for season two slightly less agonizing.”

"Telltale Games confirmed to Joystiq that The Walking Dead season two is coming in fall 2013, citing a statement to Game Informer: "The current estimated release window for season two of The Walking Dead is for fall of 'this' year (2013), and not 'next' year (2014) as has been reported after a recent interview. We apologize for any confusion and thank you and all of our fans for your continued excitement for Telltale's series."

The way I see it, every life is a pile of good things and bad things. The good things don’t always soften the bad things, but vice versa, the bad things don’t always spoil the good things and make them unimportant.
TellTale has cleared up some of our confusion regarding 400 Days, confirming that the July release is DLC for the first season despite presenting a standalone story.
According to GameInformer, you’ll need to own Season One of The Walking Dead to play 400 Days, as it’s a DLC episode.
You can play 400 Days without finishing Season One, but TellTale doesn’t recommend it as your choices from earlier episodes wil carry over into the new content. On the bright side, if you really want to skip the award-winning first season, the choices you make in 400 Days will also carry forward to Season Two; character deaths are a possibility.
400 Days will cost $5 or regional equivalent, and is due in July
Man the tv show really ruined the whole thing. It feels like a spin off than following the comic.
it doesn't matter that much. most people haven't read the comics and they still like the series.
i haven't read Game Of Thrones, this does not prevent me from enjoying the show.
