Between Nov '44 to Aug '45 USA conducted firebombings on Tokyo leading to 100'000 deaths (mostly civilians) and about 1 million wounded.

Now, imagine if something similar would be conducted today in, say, the middle-east (Afghanistan or Iraq). What would that be called?

Back in 1944. Belgrade was bombed eleven (!) times by Allies (including once by USA), and we weren't even on Axis side Sad we were occupied by Germany at the time.
It caused more infrastructure damage and civilian deaths than first German bombardment in 1941...

You can hardly compare a World War situation with the current wars going on... IMO..

Why?

Germany started doing it as a shock tactics against the British, so the American started doing all over the place.. but I might be wrong.

Strategically bombing civilian houses in cities is in no way acceptable.
Still there probably is an ICBM targeted at your city anyway..

True, during WW2 Japan actually attacked USA first.

In todays wars USA attack first, and then again, and again, and again until they extinguish terrorism from the world and instate world wide democracy and freedom.

edit: But then again, to explicitly target civilians as a means to cause terror and influence the government to make political changes... well, you COULD define it as terrorism

Science surpassing evolution by 1000 years. We're too stupid to have the level of scientific knowledge that we have. We cannot use it properly. Much of it is funded by the need to kill people.

A good start?

FOR THE RACISM!

TO THE WHITE-POWER-MOBILE!!!

In all seriousness, America should never have ever gotten involved in any of the Middle East's affairs. Ever since the League of Nations was disbanded and the United Nations was created, America has meddled far too much. We helped (lead the way, in all reality) create the nation-state of Israel, thus forcing the Palestinians to move. We forced the country of Iran (through subterfuge and sabotage) to install the last Shah, who was then overthrown in the Iranian Revolution and replaced by Ayatollah Khomeni. We (Charlie Wilson) helped the Afghani rebels repel Russian forces (that was a good thing). But, once the Russians left, we did nothing to help rebuild the infrastructure and a power vacuum was then filled by the Taliban. Our President (George H.W. Bush) gave Saddam Hussein his blessing to invade Kuwait (the Kuwaitis were slant drilling into Iraqi oil reserves and the invasion was somewhat justified). But, once Saddam invaded and wouldn't leave, he pissed off our president and Operation Desert Storm was created. No one in my country's government could possibly fully understand Middle Eastern politics as they weren't raised there, don't live there, and only see the dollar signs thanks to the massive oil reserves located there.

We just need to mind our own fucking business. America? Fuck yeah? Fuck that.

I'm just tired of my country fucking around in the world's affairs. I'm not saying that we shouldn't help, we just shouldn't create the shitty situation and then come back in twenty years and say how much we want to help, then expect to get a better deal on oil.

I think that America could be the greatest nation on our planet, if not for our idiotic/nefarious foreign policy.
