Seven Psychopaths - 7,5/10

I'm a sucker for this kind of movies, and I definitely enjoyed it, but something just didn't work for me. I felt that the second half of the movie could have been developed much better, since it lost part of the brilliance and dark humor. All in all, an enjoyable movie but also a wasted potential (considering the great cast and performances).

@Mister_s: Maybe it's the sense of ambiguity with conflicted cynical criminals, empty spaces and unconventional camera work that gave me have that impression. (I could be wrong Razz )

Django Unchained - 9/10 - excellent cast/acting, great music, some hard scenes, comedy, nice shootouts. Might be Tarantino's best for me, but it has been a long while since I last watched his old movies.

I liked dredds attitude bullshit but that story was so illogical that it was nothing but a mindless action movie... this one could ACTUALLY (however farfetched) happen i suppose and it was more realistic as in the main guns were actually able to be hurt unlike regular movies were good guys are invincible.

i wonder though, who copied who? cause these movies were in essence the same exact movie.

Kon-Tiki (2012) - it's always mind rewarding watching a group of enthusiastic and brave people show the mistakes and wrong beliefs of the ignorant and scientifically narrow. Definitely an admirable journey and experience.

8.5/10

Silver Linings Playbook - 8,5/10

Watched it this morning, a romantic comedy done right (finally Very Happy ). Crazy, fun, cheese-free, pretty unique and acted beautifully by all the protagonists.

Agreed. My final score is a bit lower - 7.5/10, though. Smile But Cooper showed that there's actually talent in him. He wasn't fantastic but definitely way above his usual types of roles. Very Happy

Yeah the quality is pretty nice though (for my standards that is xD). When it comes to movies that don't rely on spectacular visuals the DVDscr is more than fine for me. Razz

rewatched that latest resident evil movie... retribution was it? was watching it with a friend..

i honestly dont think a worse mainstream action film came out last year. everything about this movie is just terrible.. the acting and dialogue physically hurts.. it really does, the action sequences actually manages to be BORING and the story makes no fucking sense and is just poorly paced, everything feels random and... honestly, what happened? andersons directed like... 3 of these now? why is he getting worse, its not supposed to be like this. even the fourth film isnt that bad (and actually improved its standing with me after watching this latest one).

the biggest crime in the latest one i think, is the red queen. the fuck is with her looking away from the screen, then suddenly looking directly at the camera and then saying 'you're all going to die'.. what.. was she distracted looking at another monitor at the time, or perhaps asking a temp to get her a coffee, and thought shed better look at the camera as she told them they were going to die... just so that they knew she really MEANT it? and then always looking all grumpy as she looks at the camera announcing what it is shes doing during the movie...

also this was the film that made me completely be OVER slow-motion action scenes in films. id already been kinda eh on them, but now... no... no i just dont like them any more, theyre stupid, theyrve overdone, and they ruin good choreography. also this film was so lazy that it played the entire opening sequence twice, had an introductory sequence that took up like a tenth of the entire film, and then padded out the following 20 minutes with about 3 minutes worth of shit slowed down. I actually cant wait for the next movie, just to see how rediculously long and laughably silly the next intro is. honestly, just put a small text box a the start saying 'zombies... mankind be fucked', and all the viewers would be up to speed and you can just get on with it!!

anderson CAN make fun movies. and he CAN make movies that arent COMPLETELY idiotic and painful - i mean i loved event horizon, i loved soldier, mortal kombat, resident evil, yep even death race was a shitload of fun far as im concerned...

i think ive said it before.. anderson is making these dumber on purpose because he just doesnt want to do them anymore, but hes having a hard time saying no to all the money thats being thrown at him. hes just doing dumber and dumber shit each time hoping that even the most hardcore RE fans, and action movie fans just stop watching this shit.

and fucking help me, im part of the problem, because.. i still want to see the next one, especially given how this turd ended. Sad

heh, fear my text wall!

Detention - Vomit

I found it at few "great horror movies you haven't seen" lists.
Well fuck, it was on the opposite of great. I understand that the director wanted to do a pastiche of horror movies for teens filled with pop culture references. But this shit was so chaotic, the dialog was just random statements without connection to eachother to the point that the brain starts to hurts trying to make any sense out of it. The proper "plot" starts in the second part of the movie but you are so confused and it doesn't get any better in terms of quality and coherence that you just sit there and feel how your brain wants to shut down and put you in a coma until the end of this pile of steaming turd.
It also stars the best comic in the world Dane Cook. So go figure.

Project X - 7/10
normally i would never give this kind of movie anything over 5/10, but it this truly the ultimate partyfilm. what starts as a standard teenie movie turns into a crazy, over the top endeavor.
definitely worth a watch, with some alcohol or drugs around, it is extremely entertaining. Smile
