exon your pretty stupid, you dont know me, you dont know how I play my games, you just assume everything, and we all know what poeple who assume stuff are ...but let me tell you anyways, assholes.
I played SC 1 and SC 2 stealth all the way, same as Hitman, I finished all 3 of them on professional difficulty with 100% stealth.
The bottom line is poeple who like Theif 3 like low quality games, that look like they are in their alphas or betas.
THink what you want, I quite frankly dont care.

No this is not a "normal conversation" I don't know where you saw something normal in this thread since you arrived but i didn't. All i see is some guys who played a game for 5 mins then harass people on a forum 'cause he didn't like it and people who disagree with him are all morons and should STFU. That's not my definition of normal but then again i didn't finish high school and work at mcdonald (if that can help you feels more secure, of course without going down my level)

i like this game, but then again i loved thief 2 too. I can still play t2 without thinking about how yesterday the graphics are, i focus more on beeing a shadow and finding 100% loot without killing anyone.
i never got to try the first one, was thief 2 much better or worse than thief 1? and what is so much worse in t3 than t2, other than the old graphics?
i'm on level three or something, my old graphicscard broke down and i'm on my old gf3 until i get a replacement, so i havent played so much. dont know why really, since the game runs pretty good on this old card too, maybe i want to wait so i can play the game at full details again..
i can't possible hate games where you get to use a bow and arrow, and where experience helps you land precise shots in the neck of guards far away :)

Thief 2 is better than Thief 1 IMO, but that depends on your feelings towards undead creatures in games. Personally, Thief 2 was the game I wanted to play when I bought the original Thief, because it features prominently human characters who are much more enjoyable to steal from and sneak around.
About half of Thief 1's levels feature undead. I didn't like these levels, because, while definitley scary, it wasn't what I wanted Thief to be about. If I wanted zombies I would play Resident Evil. I guess that's why I prefer Thief 2 to the original.
About Thief 3, I can't really make a fair comparison between it and the other games, since I didn't get a chance to finish it before my video card died. From what I saw though, I would rate the games something like: Thief 2 > Thief 3 > Thief 1. However, I still think you have to play the original Thief just to get the scope of the gameworld and the characters. While some of the levels aren't my cup of tea, they are all extremely well designed (not to mention freakin' huge), and are worth playing through at least once. You shouldn't bother playing the original release though, as Thief GOLD adds 3 more levels (which are all larger than the original levels, and are all human-based), and numeours changes to the AI and levels.

Just edit the default.ini yourself... under [difficulty] or something like that. Doesn't seem to work in the city though. Only in missions.

That 'weirdo' happens to be the trickster, the guy who the pagens worship. He's mentioned in thief 3 quite a bit. He needed it to get some device to function.
In actual fact it was victoria, a wood nymph, and the tricksters second in command who actually did the deed. Garret also had a crush on her before she went poke happy.
