Vapor-X? Check your VRAM temperatures. Mine were 125 after 3 minutes of Furmark. Returned that shit and got the Gigabyte WF3. Much better.

big mistake thinking like that. think about now, not 1-2 years from now. when true next gen games come out ALL current cards will crap out even gtx680, 7970 and probably even gtx690.
in 2014 current cards will be 2 generations old...

Since when are MSI known for their Nvidia cards in particular? They're known for their Lightning cards and TF coolers.
There are only two that are known for their cards from either side: EVGA and Sapphire. All the other ones aren't known for their cards from either side; at most for their custom cooling solutions (DCU for ASUS, WF for Gigabyte, TF for MSI) or their overclocked/crazy cards. They'll all crap out as much as the next one and with all of them you have to go up to their highest tier solution to get real quality components (kind of like how you either get Seasonic or get a 17MW PSU from another company in order to get one with Japanese capacitors). For all the others, all the "big" manufacturers (i.e. the one that have huge ranges in many areas, like the 3 mentioned before) even share a lot of the factories and production processes, most of their quality control is outsourced at the same goddamn places. Not a single manufacturer of any kind of electronics ever, anywhere, has had 0 failures throughout a product's lifespan - especially not these mass producers.
If anyone dares say otherwise, I will gladly show you the RMA requests I've had to make over the years. The only brand that has never crapped out on me is Sapphire.
It's the same thing as with motherboards, every brand has as much chance to fail as the next. Even within a brand, it depends on exactly which product range you pick for what kind of components you get. And even then, within that product range, shit will fail. Especially the big ones, like MSI, Gigabyte, ASUS will have the same failure rates, since they share some of the factories and thus have the same quality control.

"True next-gen" (as in, properly optimised with full dynamic lighting/reflection/refraction and things like that) won't come around until UE4 hits and that's as close as we'll get even with the new consoles. All the top console games that really squeeze every last bit of power out of them are exclusives. 90% of the cross-platform ones are UE3 and that engine has nothing more to offer.
What we will hopefully get soon after the new consoles though, are something better than last century's textures for example.

By the time games stress the new consoles graphically, we'll be another 1 year further (dev studios need time to get used to the new HW generally). I don't expect any "true next-gen game" untill 2015 atleast (if the consoles come in 2014).

Hmmm well in my case i think the vram temps were ok, ive read around and it seems buying pc hardware today is risky as hell, nothing is 100% safe buy, for example the MSI TF3 i bought it supposed to be one of the best and yet i got an RMA and many others too, and yet look at my case, then i started searching Sapphire and i found out it was one of the best too and had a lot of people against it, RMAing like hell.
Seems like getting a doa these days is pretty common. Lucky for me this sapphire arrived and i didnt see any high temps on it.

Is your card voltage locked? I think mine was. Boost also didn't work correctly - it would spike between 850 and 950 MHz. Maybe you got the vapor-x with 7970 PCB.
Still, 100 VRM1 temps after 20-30 minutes of playing Witcher 2 was ridiculous for me. Returned it with a bunch of other people.

Ill recheck everything today, but i did read that it was voltage locked, but yeah i did see it jump between 850 and 950 a lot.

Retested, Furmark, burn in test, 3 mins, temps rised to 60 after 2 mins, Chip had 60 Vrams had 58 i think, 3-4 mins and the temps had stabilized at 65 Chip, 66 vram, fan was at 45%.
I think this one is a good card xD , asic quality 52.9%

Yeah, probably 7970 PCB.
My Vapor-X had 88.8% Asic. Yours is the first one I've read that's below 80-85%.
Mah old card:

FYI, if you're a fan of Sapphire for AMD cards and wish you could get them for Nvidia, Zotac is a sister company of Sapphire
