Has anyone else had a Bug where you disband a Character, and when later on when you go to the Inn to get them back, they arn't there?
Ex. I had Deru in my party at the very first, and when I got Tarr and the Dire Wolf, I sent her to the Inn. Well I'm Act I Chap 9, and I see a door I need a Ranger for. I go back to get her from the Inn, and there are 2 portraits of Lothar, and none of Deru. If i click on the first one, I get a error sound and a double cursor (the in game and windows) and the following error msg when I Crtl-Alt-Del out of the game. "Out of memory. Please free some memory, then choose retry" It's a smartheap library error. I have 1 gig of memory and 400 megs or so free. I'm probably screwed, but any help would be cool. Thanks all.

Anyone have an odd odd "bug" or something, where the mouse cursor kinda flickers?
Its not really annoying, nor disturbing, but still, just wondering if anyone else got this, i figured it was an AA issue, but nopes. Flickers when running in a window also.
Any command line to use hardware cursors instead or vice versa? thx!

Some more tips for all of you
Before you start the veteran campaign think about this:
- Your party, with equipment, level and storage vault will all transfer to the next campaign
- All the groupmembers you've sent to the inn will still be there for you to pick up. Even if they are low level they will instantly be brought to your level.
- The "ideal" level for you to start veteran at is -40. I started at 43 at it was a bit too easy.
- The new groupmember count for veteran is 5
- You will have all your chants so you can start the ghost-quest directly (no more going back)
All i can think of for now

It's there. There is a pretty big cavern that has an extendable bridge, on the little "island" there is an elevator, if i remember correctly there is a stone you need to smash to see the lever for it.

i doubt it's a router issue - we are both the dmzs' when my friedn and I try and still no go. it's annoying i wonder why it isnt working - blocked on net, allowed onhamachi ip and cna see each ut no go. very odd.

I followed the steps exactly, still doesn't work for me either. The internet is definately blocked to ds2.exe as I can get into the LAN lobby, but when I try connecting via Internet it times out. Hamachi is definately working because in the LAN lobby we can see eachother. However, games are still unseen when they are created, just like before when we used Hamachi or Battle.lan alone and no firewall. We tried messing with the advanced rules settings in Sygate, blocking only the internet NIC and allowing Hamachi when it tries to use the virtual NIC, but the result was the same. Next up, trying without routers and trying with only the WinXP firewall.
Benoyd what version of Sygate and Hamachi are you using? Are you sure you didn't do anything else? Did you start Hamachi after you opened DS2 or what? Are you using a seperate VPN connection as well as Hamachi? Please give us more information.

We used the latest Hamachi and the latest Sygate Firewall Professional. We started Himachi first and then launched DS2. We are using only Hamachi.
Edit: I think I got it. According to what I have read if the host is behind a router then no one will see the game. There is NO work around for this except for removing your router from the equation and putting yourself directly on the internet. No firewall rules will fix the problem and no the DMZ won't do it either. You need to be RIGHT on the internet and using a piece of software like Hamachi. You may endup getting the "Nickname is in use error" but apparently rebooting and trying again might fix that. We've had it a few times and have fixed it by just disconnecting/reconnecting to Hamachi. We've been doing this with no Firewall either. We dropped Sygate pretty quick when we found out you don't need the firewall to make it work right. As for a VPN connection, you're screwed, thanks a ton Microsoft, you guys own. Hamachi is your best bet, I've heard Battle LAN might work as well. I will let you know how things go after my friend gets his ass back from playing Madden 2006.
Edit #2: Fixed. If you put the host directly on the internet and use Hamachi you will have no problems playing on LAN. So the instructions are:
1. Install Hamachi
2. Reboot
3. Start Hamachi
4. Connect to the same Network
5. Make sure everyone can ping eachother
6. Launch DS2
7. Start a LAN game
8. Make sure the host is DIRECTLY ON THE INTERNET (NO DMZ)
9. Play

fizi: that makes absolutely no sense. from a network arch standpoint, being the DMZ means that all unaccounted packets will be pointed in it's direction. meaning there's really no difference from having a static non-local IP and being a DMZ. are you sure there's no other configuration steps you used? can you post your sygate traffic log for everything happening with the remote host and local host being 5.3.55.x (assuming that's your hamachi ip range). i'm seeing some blocks that shouldn't be there, and i think that's the cause of not seeing the hosted game.

thats for hte help. however, i dont see how being a dmz can affect it at all. if your machine is the demilitarized zone then you are basicly directly on the internet. it by skips EVERY possible filter/rule that ip<fw/tables/whatever it would be on your router) may have setup as if they dont exist and you have a direct connection. basicly it makes the machine inbetween nothign but a switch in a sense
ill give it a try however it doesnt make much sense to me, atleast as beign the dmz is a direct connection in the end
thx

He's right, it doesn't matter if it should work with DMZ or not, because it doesn't. I tried without a router and Hamachi and it worked flawlessly. End of story.

Yep sounds like it
It's supposed to be a cutscene where he talks on about some stuff and then attacks you.

He is at the inn in Aman'lu. He is a ranger that you can have as a groupmember. He is also the same elf that didnt kill you in the tutorial and later recommended your release to Celia. I never had him in my group so im not sure what the circles do, if you take him give me a heads up

Yeah they level up, the first ones start at level 40 which is way too easy to be honest
I'm already halfway through act2 in the veteran campaign, it's ALOT faster when you know where to go. And of course your characters are crazy good now too

Since alot of you are finished or pretty far in the game, can u help me with a few side quests?
Act I : Side quest : Lelani's Sorrow
*what do i do with the lucky statue of Xeria? Its the reward for giving the ribs to the inn patron.
Act II : Side Quest : Deru's Treasure Hunt
*Besides the first treasures location, where are the other treasure locations?
One final thing... the red mushroom circles.... are they worth back tracking to?

Well, guess my DMZ doesn't know what to do. You're right it SHOULD work but guess what, much like many things in life it DOESN'T work like its supposed to. Set it up exactly as I said in steps 1-9 (which I figured was pretty clear) and you can play. If it works for you on the DMZ let me know. I'm not using Sygate. All I'm using is Hamachi and the internet the way it was meant to be used not behind a goddamn router.
