20% off a new release is crap? Madness.
I'm not saying the discount is single use. But on the other hand 20% off everything for a whole year is ridiculously good.

Got a mail from them that they are restocking/generating/whatever-the-translator-is-saying.
If you got a mail with your order number, you can click on it and see the state of your order (the key supposedly appears in that order-tracking page). | Quote: | | The system needs some time to fill the database with the keys. well thats the thing... i got the opinion that it wasnt 20% off of EVERYTHING... they specifically state "In the few cases where discounts are not permitted" you get coins... it wouldnt surprise me if the discount wont include new games... or atleast aaa new games. |

But you will get the quivalent of the discount in blue coins in those cases. Which is almost the same thing. For example, you buy a 50$ game, you get 10$ in blue coins (apart from the regular rewards). So you can get a 12,5$ game (-20%) for free.

of course, but from a business point, you're still having to pay full price, AND the coins are an enticement to keep buying from gamersgate, whereas a flat discount would let you get a game for cheaper and you dont have to shop there again if you dont want. it may not seem like a difference, but businesswise to gamersgate, there certainly is.
this 'compensation' is going to be a great money-making tool for gamersgate

Don't think so. How much of a margin do you think they'll be left with after a 20% discount.

ouch. the shitstorm at gamersgate continues :/
people who had nothing to do with the sale are upset that some get a 20% discount. those who got refunded are pissed they didnt get keys, and people from all sides are pissed that those who bought multiple packs got their game keys AND a refund on top.
in a way its good i suppose.. maybe it helps gamersgate become a more reliable site in the future (and honest, what with the selling games they dont have keys for), given the amount of grief this has caused them.

yes but think about the extra business it can generate... buy a game at steam or amazon, or buy it 20% cheaper at gg? an auto discount for a fifth off of the sales price is quite attractive at generating volume, even if the profit margins are smaller.

still not a bait and switch. it only happens if the company has no stock and never intended to sell that stock at that price.
the fact that those who completed the order and were delivered (even partially) the order, still get the offer at that price.
those who did NOT *complete* the order, were refunded their money. it wasnt a bait and switch in a legal sense.

Exactly. Discussion was before they gave 20% discount. Now I can say that's bait and switch. Crowd will be buying more games from GG with discount (hope not).

have no problem with that.. was cheaper than i saw it anywhere else, and cheaper than was offered on the steam sale. Wasn't exactly asking anything outrageous for it like 40 bucks worth of stuff, and skyrim is a great game. Don't see the problem, I really dont.
I buy games for 1 of three reasons. to keep and play, to give away, or to trade. im not going to undervalue a good tradable game by a massive amount because of a pricing error... its just stupid. but im not going to overvalue it either by claiming its worth full retail. some of the games from the pack ill give away, and some ill trade - and those games i'll trade, im going to value realistically based on what i believe to be the games worth as entertainment quality and their average sale prices, not what they cost me to buy
