So I was inking some picture I saw, and I wanted it in vector to be nicer, etc... And all was fine, until out of a sudden I notice that my black isn't really black but #231f20 according to Photoshop :\
I immediately checked if something with 'display as rich black' had happened, but nothing. What's even weirder, if you look at the colour of the swatch, it looks 'rich black' like in the background image I'm inking of. But all the lines etc. are this 'black' :\
Any idea what's causing this? :\

Well, I have never used Adobe Illustrator, however, I know that in Photoshop you can sometimes apply certain amount of clipping to black and/or white to prevent them from becoming pure and therefore losing some detail after printing.
And speaking about printing - you sure this problem has nothing to do with CMYK colorspace and the way it manages black?

Well unless I clicked on something unknowingly :\
I was fine, the blacks were black like one in the background, and then all of a sudden, bam! No more black :\

I found what I did wrong. As you've said, I changed the document setting. I must have clicked ctrl+alt+shift+Y which changes the mode to Overprint preview, that screwed the settings xD
Now I clicked on it again, and it's all black again, as it should be
