Armor value caps at 80% resistance which was something like 560 AR in a non-modded game, I'm not quite sure how it worked again but I do know you cap out way before you reach Daedric.
(You can reach the cap in normal iron armor with good smith skills and upgraded items.)

This was one of the first things that the various balance mods altered from what I remember.
(Usually by lowering armor rating but also by changing how much is needed to reach those 80% but again I'm not quite sure how it works.)

Anyway with crafting you can take any item and upgrade it to be the best possible, base quality doesn't really matter.

I wondered if someone could offer me some advice? I bought Skyrim through steam on release last year and clocked up 200+ hours. I installed a few mods and had endless CTD's so regressed to an earlier save and all was well for a while, so over time I added some mods back in which put me back to CTD time again.

I've since changed my PC and switched to an (deserter alert!) iMac which I have bootcamp partitioned with Windows 7. I decided to re-install Skyrim and start from scratch again via Steam, whereupon I experienced the same problem 20 seconds into the opening sequence at the start of the game. To see if Steam was the issue I uninstalled and used Reloaded's cracked version and have exactly the same problem.

I could understand if I was trying to run old save games that I could potentially have this issue, but from a fresh install Scratch Head

For info I am using an i5 processor, AMD Radeon HD 6970M, 16GB Ram, 2TB HD and a fucking horrible Magic Mouse Crying or Very sad

Any help or suggestions would be very much appreciated Smile

Both

Archery is MUCH more effective by itself when compared to the previous games IMO, ended up dropping alchemy because most poisons felt useless.

Might pick it up for a 2nd playthrough though, some cool stuff like a certain ingredient boosting the poison damage much more than the other (river betty had some wicked damage health effect when compared to other ingredients with the same effect, for instance).

The game is amazing and I usually don't like RPG shit, but this is fun.
One question though, there seems to be an official HD Texture pack, do you guys know if that was already included in my Steam download?

They are, quality wise, but last thing I heard is none of those packs include near the amount of textures covered by the official pack. So best thing to do is to edit your SkyrimPrefs.ini (the one in the game install folder) to include the official packs from there and uncheck them in the Skyrim Launcher, so you can have both the unofficial hd textures and the official hd ones for the rest.

Well I'm of the same mindset as Aeon. For me most rpg nowadays (there's a shitload of them released every year) are basically the same boring and repetitive fantasy themed crap. But of course normally every year there's a decent subset of really excellent role playing games.

To name a few in the recent years: The Witcher 1/2, TES Oblivion/Skyrim, Dragon Age Origins, Mass Effect 1/2, also probably Dark Souls (which i'm about to start playing) and Legends of Grimrock, etc.

He was talking about RPGs in general, including the alleged "best ever" ones, not nowadays Razz
So don't you dare putting that pitchfork down!

Well it's very likely he didn't have the chance to try any of those amazing old school rpg in the past (just like me that didn't have a good enough PC for several years) like Ultima games, Baldur's Gate series, TES Morrowind, Planescape Torment, KOTOR series, Arx Fatalis (excellent game which I only recently played) and many others Wink

So basically what you are saying is, if an RPG is good, you will like it, but otherwise you hate RPGs. Laughing

Ok, I'll repeat myself cause it's the holidays Razz Those you quoted are the ones that I liked a lot in the recent years, and I think they're a minority among the shitload of boring RPG released yearly.

I found the official pack on Steam, and it said I didn't have it yet, so it's now downloading 3GB.

@Aeon Yep, the high-res pack was released as DLC. But you should also get the Skyrim HD mod for 4K/2K textures. Smile

So what I said is true. You like the good RPGs but hate the bad. Laughing I hate first person shooters in general too, except the good ones. Laughing

It wasn't bad use of English entirely... it's just in the context of Aeon's post, it looked like you said that you don't like RPG games, except for good ones.
In which case it's not the genre you dislike - it's bad games Razz

Now that's a better explanation Smile I might have misunderstood Aeon's post then, but it would be good for him to clarify.

I left skyrim for more than 6 months untouched.... Now i get back check mods, download immersive armors and weapons just to see what ? THAT EVERYTHING IN THOSE MODS IS WORSE THAN I HAVE

I mean seriously wtf is that, once you get daedric stuff you cant find anything better ??!?!?!?!?! You cant find any legendary and unique stuff from exploring cause everything will be shit compared to daedric, so basically after around 25 hours of gameplay 6 months ago I found all the good things and rest of 100 hours to play is just doing quest and collecting money for nothing ? This is just retarded

flawed game is flawed, loot wise. Doesnt help that you can only craft/enchant the best armors/weapons for the most part. Whats the point of this big world and cool dungeons if theres nothing worth exploring them for.

Thats what I mean, there should be so many new and awesome unique armors and weapons with cool looks and yet you just craft stuff, wear it, explore the word and after defeating every new oponent you just look at his equipment and think "meh nothing worth even selling" and now I kind of lost some fun in this game if I know I wont find anything better:(

Install mods that make high-end gear Really rare (as it's supposed to be, imo), tweaks blacksmithing+enchanting to be not stupidly broken, and get one that turns off auto-levelling the world while you're at it.
