So the law had to be changed because shopkeepers refuse to get proper price tag stickers? Poor country

Same in Finland. I recall reading a long ago an example with car dealership where they had put comma on the wrong spot. -> They didn't have to sell the cars for 1/10th of the actual price.
If the mistake is not big, then the shops must sell the product. (No idea if the scale of the mistake allowed is ruled somewhere though)

No the law got changed cos people here were way cleverer than you lot mate - sophisticated price tags wouldn't stop a Brit
Edit - of course that's not the sole reason they changed the law

So chipped pricetags couldn't stop people from swapping pricetags? Seems unlikely to me tbh...

Common sense, if it's obvious that they made an error they can't be forced to give you the product for that price. Just a matter of how you advertise the product and if you knew it beforehand eg. advertise it with a wrong price to get more customers into the store.
Wasn't there a case with extremly cheap beer which caused a massive traffic jam? IIRC some customers got it for the lower price.

Oh man... I really couldn't give a fuck - if you're so desperate to win an argument that you go googling shit that means fuck all then crack on man... I said EVERY SHOP. Do some more googling and post more pics from EVERY ITEM FROM EVERY RETAILER or maybe just have a spliff and chill the fuck out eh

Ok mate - I concede... it's not at all important to me but clearly is to you so I declare you are the winner - like I said I couldn't give a fuck... you had a lil joke about my country, I had one back but unfortunately you like to give it but can't take it. That's unlucky but Merry Xmas.

You do realise that you and JuniR are both right and both wrong, right?
In the UK, only expensive items have those chipped barcodes. They used to be on books, but not anymore, so generally speaking it's only high-end equipment or certain retailers that have them (Kindles in Tescos have them, I believe, but games in HMV don't).
Whereas, as you've demonstrated, even small places in the Netherlands use them.

Pixieking I never said ALL items weren't electronically tagged and certainly didn't slip in a cheeky adjective (expensive) to change the argument - I just said NOT ALL ITEMS IN ALL STORES are and we ALL know what the truth is without having to debate it - it's common sense but does it matter? Not really cos we all have more important things to think about - well most of us anyway!
As for Games deals - if ppl keep discussing something else... ahem i.e. you yourself have posted an opinion as well, then it keeps going no?

Are you saying people who buy Doom 3 are getting the keys while people from Bethesda pack aren't? Is that even possible within their system?

i think theyre saying its odd that theyre selling a game which they apparently shouldnt have keys for.... seems a bit odd to sell a game and when the purchaser goes to get the key to play it, they get hit with a 'sorry, yeah ok so you bought the game, but we wont be delivering it till the middle of january' message.

It's the exact same sku, i don't see how they could even have separate keys so either they just put a game on sale even though they have no keys supposedly until mid january with no warning on the page, or they are intentionally withholding keys from customers who have already bought it
