How does having more than 2 hard drives work? Do they all connect or do I need an extra IDE port on my motherboard open? I think I only have two and one is taken up by my two hard drives and the other by my two cd/dvd drives.

you can have either 4 hard disks or 3 hard disks and a cdrom / dvd of a normal motherboard IDE system.

You can set a hard disk to master and slave so.

IDE1 ---- Master - HDD1
Slave - HDD2
IDE2 Master - HDD3
Slave - CD/DVD

If you want mor eon a IDE system you will have to purchase a IDE controller.

You could also upgrade to scsi, and that will allow you to have more devices ... but that can proove pricey.

you already have some SATA ports onboard, and windows is able to use up to 6 devices from the chipset controller, at least for intel boards. But i guess you have an additonal SATA controller onboard, so just buy a SATA hd Smile
