I hate it It feels like everything is so random (going from wind direction when on ice to random items, to randomly changing abilities of greevils). It's just not my cup of tea i guess, despite trying to get into it at least for the items
I just take it as it is, mindless fun - with my beginner gf it's priceless really
Only naked greevils got randomly changing abilities since they had such crappy ones at the start of the event, that's how they tried to balance it out.
But yeah, can't be arsed to play it for items.. I just don't care.

I like it pretty much, although I always end up with the crappy team of people who are just idling at the spawn
The Greeviling or regular games ? Such stuff sucks, be sure to report those people in the scoreboard - they usually are prompt to put them in low priority.
is there a way to obtain mystical hook for pudge? I mean other then buy it from ppl who wants cca 20-30e? its my favorite hero, and its only item that I need so far

I saw things like that in here and in other "woman problems" topics so...... Am I the only one that thinks some authorities needs to be alerted about Saner and him possibly being a rapist and/or kidnapper ?
Saner is not being serious. Unless its the subject of Santa!
Haha just noticed it These recurring sales are kinda scary, I mean, even grandmas have Dota2 (free) by now xD (and yet people are still willing to pay money for it ).
Maybe Gaben is manipulating the polls once again
If you want a easy to learn game and no abuse, go to LoL, if you want to just fuck around and get screamed at by 10-12 year olds go to Hon, If you want to experience stress from a video game, go to DOTA.
Dota however offers the best for your time, as it is harder and steeper learning curve, actually makes you feel like you are improving.

I would say the learning curve in hon is more or less identical to dota.
So this kind of a game is the one game I've never really payed much attention to. I played a few bot matches back in DOTA using bot-made versions of dota but that's about it. Have never played League of Legends of Heroes of Newerth either.
So in your opinions, which one of these three do you think is the most well made (lets ignore graphics though) mechanically, balance wise and which one do you think is the most fun to play (I know that question is subjective but I still want to know)?
DOTA2, LoL or HoN?
If I'm going to play this type of a game I'm going to dedicate myself to just one of them.
Dedication is surely needed to play Dota or Hon. Its very ungrateful. If you just wanna goof around and take it slow I suggest only playing against bots for a while in dota or wait until they have implemented the mentor functions and the tutorials
As someone who has never played any games of the MOBA genre, the learning curve of Dota 2 is goddamn brutal. It absolutely forces you to play as a team and to not die as it gives the opponents a massive advantage otherwise.

Dota is above the rest, imo.
Actually it looks like Valve improved their matchmaking system, so I am usually matched against noobs like myself. I'm having fun most of the time now even though I'm playing casually.

Im just saying for a guy new to the genre completely there is a LOT of work ahead of him in terms of even understanding wtf is going on. Sometimes people get the wind knocked out of them early cause its overwhelming

I'm in this boat.. Youtube is my friend for now ,, the learning curve is unlike anything I have ever experienced. Ive been consolized I think into having my hand held so to speak.

I played a fair bit in October/Halloweenish and there were a lot of players that (if you looked at their profile) were "new" to the game, but were clearly pros in the way they absolutely dominated the matches.
The problem with so many invites and free copies floating around for this game is that people are creating new Steam accounts and putting Dota 2 on there, despite being essentially pros at the game on their main account. This way they get to play with noobs from the matchmaking system and basically walk all over them, I guess that's one way to enjoy the game

It takes a few (20+) matches for matchmaking to determine your skill. After that it shouldn't put you with pros...

comp dota 2 = farming for 60 min, game last 60-90 mins..
comp hon , ganking teamfighting game barely last 45 mins
so dota 2 is skill based? when bot hteams have 10 10 score by 60th min? wont cross river and farm till every hero is full geared up.. ye takes a lot of skill to farm jungle
Dota has switched to a metagame which encourages ganking and teamfights much more than before ( when it was a fast-push era, that was pretty dull at times ).
Of course, if you're talking about G-League and the chinese games lasting up to 90 minutes, which happens very scarcely.. then you'd know how exciting these games really are if you have the proper insight.

Thanks for all the input, I'll try LoL for a few matches and see if I think it's more fun than what I've played in DOTA2. I like the idea of it being tougher and more rewarding so I'll probably go with DOTA2.
I knew I could count on you guys!
Best of luck, if you ever need some help for Dota 2 feel free to add me on Steam ( same as my forum nickname with a green leaf avatar )
Am I the only one here who likes Smite more than any of these other moba games? Could someone who has played this as well explain to me why e.g. Dota 2 is more fun?
