Or some morbid youths found the carcass and felt a need to disturb/scare people in the area. I still remember when I was a kid and some people in a suburb (bad place) killed cats by shoving russian firecrackers up the cats ass and light it on fire and watch it run until the backside and inside exploded and the cat died a horrible death. Kids can be cruel, and some of them end up with asocial personality syndrome (narcissism, sociopaths, psychopaths (although those diagnoses aren't in DSMIV but instead sub-groups of APS)).
Things like that makes me wish humans had never evolved.

You sure it was up it's arse and not just strapped to the cat? Cos it sounds abit too unbelievable that someone actually managed to shove it up a cats tailpipe.
The cruelty sounds believable unfortunatly - but it's just the way you described I find hard to find true..
