Will this patch include the HUD options? Because if so, I'll wait for an official method rather than hex-editing game files.

after raging for the past 2 days because of my savegames disappearing and starting over with a new game for the 3rd time, i thought i'd write down my findings here, hope this helps somebody:

1. use the vanilla reloaded version (1.01) - 1.02 patch makes the whole thing even more FUBAR (well, at least for me), i spent hours scouring the whole damn interwebz in search for answers, nothing worked
2. copy your savegames in regular intervals from c:\programdata\orbit\46 just to be sure
3. it doesn't destroy anything if you save manually instead of relying just on autosaves
4. no, copying your saves into that ubisoft launcher *long name* folder won't help. uninstalling uplay won't either. the reloaded crack circumvents uplay afaik, that's also why your saves aren't in there and the files have different names than the legal/steam006 versions (Save001.sav instead of 1.save(.metadata))
5. don't switch between dx9 and dx11
6. thank god for being able to mute a game and having a second monitor for tv shows, BECAUSE FUCK YOU UBI FOR MAKING A 1 HOUR LONG INTRO/TUTORIAL
7. discovered this just minutes ago: played fine for hours yesterday, save system working, but today - suddenly saves have disappeard, even though i didn't even touch the pc and left it running since then? just reboot the system, that's it, savegames are back again Laughing

ah shit? for real? I was really hoping this would be the HUD patch.

tried finding info on the changelog but couldn't find anything. Would you mind posting your source please.

*edit*

nvm, people saying those patch notes are fake, someone posted on ubi forums...

anyways, also someone posted this. Don't know if I should install with steam version though....?

Pretty laughable patch changelog for v1.03

----------------------------------------------
General fixes for the patch:
----------------------------------------------

- Added Russian and Czech language support for Steam versions.
- Fixed issues for machines that have more than 32 cores. <-- WTF is this?? Laughing
- Fixed issues for activation keys bundled with ULC privileges. ULC content will now unlock during activation.
- Improvements to playlists and rotation for User Made maps.

At first I thought the changelog was incorrect/invalid too but it has to be true since that text came straight out of the patch installer I got from that same link.

by the time over 32 cores is the default i bet the amount of cores we have is the least of the worries when it comes to playing games like these.

Why would it need to be the default? If you wait until something becomes the standard before implementing it into a game, you're way too late. Took a long time before widescreen monitors became more popular than 4:3 ones.

Some ubi dev said UI patch will be the next one.

What is the deal with the fucking hunting missions ? It forces me to use the bow and that piss of SHIT weapon needs at least 3 hits to kill the big animals. They just charge me and instantly I'm on 1% health, I need 1 second to heal up and I get attacked again, lolwtf.

Am I the only one to prefer vanilla rendering over this ?
I find vanilla much more natural and smooth than their modded screenies...

Neutral

Also it would be interesting to see a DX9 / 11 comparison.

Yeah, unfortunately most of the secondary stuff in the game is really weak. After finishing the main story and taking all outposts what is left is really boring. After finishing the "Lost Expeditions" which aren't really great either, I just uninstalled the game.

There were three misions actually, the last one I played was a bit better than the other two (was the one with the Assassin's Creed tie-in) but generally a weak DLC. Monkey business is better and fun though, very similar to outpost taking, with great stealth opportunities. Also, this Hurk character wasn't bad at all.

You could try using one of those combat syringes to buff your strength to make your shots do higher damage.
Also what I do is try to shoot them at a longer range.
This way the animal will become scared and run away, otherwise if you get too close before attacking it will charge at you.

Lol I thought they were meant to enable wallhack to hunt/find the animals more easily.

How the FUCK does a drug make your shots do more damage ?
