i do ... since astra shut my account down and all the index sites are gone or shit lol.

sorry i am not 1337 enough ...

edit : well , http://pirateproxy.net works.

And btw, tpb is perfectly fine for almost everything. It maxes out my (albeit crappy) connection and downloads begin quite fast and reliable. Then again, i am not an instant gratification bitch Smile

lets dismantle some BS here :

"ISP can catch you dling from there" - where i live, we don't care, because we don't have to care.

"no instant access to quality rlses" - yeah, so the releases are up a couple hours later -> see my "not an instant gratification bitch" comment

"slow download speeds" - wrong , it maxes out my 20mbit connection, most of the time.

"no seeds for older stuff" , i download several complete shows and movies and games from tpb torrents and got them 99& of the time.

"fakes" i havent got a single fake in years, simply because i only download stuff from trusted uploaders. Simple.

I think there is a lot of "i heard its like this" and "10 years ago it was like this" BS and not actually knowing what you are talking about rofl.

Yeah, TPB pretty much always maxes my 120mbit connection, but that of course depends on the torrent (the newer ones usually keep around 4-5 MB/s )

I use TPB daily, especially when it comes to music. Beats shit like rapidshare or other hosts with their 30kb cap Laughing

I was not talking about what's bad for you Sin , I was talking about me ( so I guess we still need that IMO at the end of the sentence )...if something is BS for you doesn't mean it's for me too..so I call your entire post BS.. Wink Razz

Get used to it the septic tanks are busy running around arm-twisting, bribing and generally bullying pols all over the planet to sign up to oppressive 'piracy site bans' plus 'anti-piracy downloading' legislation. Both streams of neo-liberalism the traditional conservative political parties plus the pseudo lefty 'social democrat' parties just about everywhere have been stacked full of traitors prepared to do seppo bidding on the off-chance they might jag a gig with one of the globalist entities (IMF ILO even UNESCO great gigs with a bucketload of benefits) once their parliamentary career comes to an end. No conspiracy or any o that shit - just greed.

It's like living in the middle-age, I guess it's because the Internet and freedom of speech are regimes' worst enemies Crying or Very sad Laughing

Speaking of which, another couple of famous sites have been banned here some days ago...who cares about the crisis and the fact that people are living on the street, let's keep censoring the internet!

Italy bans sites? I had honestly no idea. Shocked I thought the only site-banning countries were those with (more Razz) oppressive regimes, like China for example.

Well the english seem to have banned it too. Just for the hell of it I tried to access tpb on my other machine which is currently connected to englander vpn. No go could not connect but when I go back to my main puta that is connected here ('here being a country that doesn't ban sites but does have laws against d/ling the penalty for which is yer net connection gets permanently turned off shock horror) I connected with tpb immediately.

This stuff is oppressive but since peeps come across as derps if they hammer on about it out in mainstream society it seems almost inevitable that its gonna get much much worse.
The laws were passed here because apparently it is a well known fact 'that piracy costs jobs' n unemployment is pretty high here at the moment.

funny, our government here (switzerland) made a study as well, which showed, that piracy has no influence what so ever and therefor there is no reason to forbid it. (Main argument was, that people who pirate are also the same people who buy more things).

In my country there are a lot of fuckers trying to fight piracy and therefore shut national sharing sites and succeed in shooting down a few.

But since piracy here for personal use is still OK, and no sites were ever banned, I tend to not worry with it. Smile

And I guess you're happy then that he decided to not run for Prime-Minster (once again). Laughing

Oh I doubt that there was anything objectively evidential in the claim. It was anecdotal. The country is New Zealand and the government here used the deal with warner bros to make the 3 Hobbit movies as an excuse to bring in these laws (as well as really restictive anti-union laws that prevents local actors working on the Hobbit from getting the same package as the imported 'stars') I could hammer on in great deal about some of the other incentives on offer but unless you live here it is not exactly riveting stuff.
except
1/ About a 100 years ago I worked in the music industry in england warners had just taken over a mob of indie labels and WB's organised crime roots was common gossip treated as fact.

2/ Also one of the most interesting NZ cables to come outta wikileaks cablegate was a message from the US embassy detailing how they were gonna pay for the advertising campaign here in NZ that was run to try and sell joe citizen on the benefits of 'stopping piracy' and the evils of intellectual property 'theft'.
