It checks everything using unrar, passworded gets binned, under 100meg gets binned (this is my settings not default) I find that although some things get through it is minimal, but I will say I personally dont index a lot of 0-day groups. It also has white and blacklists for stuff.

It even generates preview snapshots of the video file (and mediainfo) (although this is only 80% successful give or take) it also can do music previews it will display what is inside the rar file and what not.

 Spoiler:

Look if any old member here wants to access my site they are more than welcome, I will generate an invite code, but basically if I dont recognise your handle, dont bother PMing me.

i will also say my site is very very rough and it is ran on my own personal hardware and connection and will be offline over the next few days because I have to move my box (but it is usually pretty solid (heh famous last words)), and I have been running it from home for a month or so for myself and a couple of family members (but with nzbmatrix going I am now in the process of importing about 4 years worth of crap) and I index generally what I want, so I dont do everything.

that being said newznab integrates with sabnzbd / sickbeard and couchpotato pretty well, so if that floats your boat drop me a PM, just dont moan if its shit because it does what I want it to do, and thats all I care about

I just search on binsearch and nzbindex setting minimal size to whatever it needs to be and I never had a fake. Just take the first post of a release and you'll have it. If you really want to be safe tick the box "only search for posts with nfo". I don't see what the big deal is.

I guess we got lazy. I remember downloading headers looking for releases. I hope the headers will start being encoded with numbers instead of names to make it harder for the DCMA assholes.

That will lead to bullshit private groups, I don't like such stuff. It's inevitable in the long run I guess.
As for FTD, that was on a whole different level on its own imo. It was a big loss, unlike some indexer.

Yeah but a lot of stuff posted via FTD went via its FTD number which is what we need for DMCA to not take stuff down from the actual usenet servers. But then they'll go after the sites that have the number reletse index, like with FTD.

1 click sites have always been too easy, it takes the fun out of trying to find it, there is too many 1 click users these days, and whole scene just too easy to access, maybe get full doownload speeds now due to people not bothering or clueless to take some time and actual learn.

It's only 2 days since i purchased a VIP membership, and now this.

They should've informed the members about these shutdown notices, problems with payment providers, server costs etc. weeks ago, and disabled the VIP option at the same time, since the future of the site was obviously at risk.

Luckily i paid through Paypal, and have filed a dispute.
I don't mind paying for these services, but I wouldn't have done so, had i known about the problems they had.

thats bad luck, i did purchase a VIP membership myself but years ago so more than got my moneys worth...to be fair it was more in gratitude for the service and amount of content id found via the site than the extra features - it was more than useable with a free membership.

its a bummer its gone.

I know, but when you download it the files are gone, dmca takedowns. You can see the headers but the files are empty. That was to make an example, things are drastically change on the usenet front Sad
