awesome, aoe2 is one of my alltime favs of this genre! played it + expansion set a few hundred hours in mp. gonna check it out when its released, thanks for the headsup
No new maps / campaign? Can hardly be called an expansion then.

IMO, AoE3 sucks compared to AoE2. Yeah, it's a good game, but not a good as this one.
As I remember, what made AoE3 "bad" was it was too similar to AoE2, other than the home city aspect. It was in different period and was in a different continent, but gameplay-wise was very similar.
I can't really specify what made it "bad" for me. Maybe all the little things (like the limit of towers we could construct) put together. The game isn't bad, far far from that. I just enjoyed way more the second.

For me i just didnt find the time period as fun as the 2nd one.
