It's not THAT bad of a movie. It just isn't a bourne movie.

had a rerun of stargate sg-1 (and atlantis in chronologic order from season 8-10 sg1, 1-3 atlantis) and part of it , was of course the 2 SG movies (ark of truth and continuum) and they still deliver. Both 8.5/10. And considering the budget (7m/movie) even worth a 9/10.

glad to see another SG fan Very Happy

It was bad. No essence at all. You complained about the editing job in some other movie, but THIS shit was okay for you? Surprised

it kept me somewhat entertained. lol. yes the dragging of scenes. the movie clearly could've been an hour and 45 minutes tops. not two hours +. and I like the story and the characters.

Well can't blame fully SyFy, they did approach a more Battlestar style with Universe, especially the camera style and the excessive drama (altho the drama cuts down in S2, but it was too late already Neutral)

A very interesting watch. Awesome achievement. It was a bit all over the place tho. the connection between the stories wasnt as great as I had hoped, but it didnt bother me that much.

That is pretty much what I felt aswell. Though the movie never got boring. I was watching it with two friends and we had an awesome time laughing at little details in the movie. Some awesome performances and some really really strong emotional moments.

I give it an 8.5/10 and call it my hollywood movie of the year 2012.

Obviously I can not know how I would have felt if I had read the book, and I am a little annoyed that I didnt read it before watching the movie. Then again, discovering everything in the movie itself was nice.

Savages - 8/10

I don't know how this movie got 6,6 / 10 on imdb and 51% fresh on RT?

I really liked it. It's one of the movies that didn't make me pause it and go afk and then never finish watching it Laughing

I liked the soundtrack too. It's good. especially this track:

...btw. Salma Hayek is hawt Cool

It tricked ya. It has well known Hollywood actors and a huge scope but this isn't a Hollywood movie. It's the most expensive independent movie ever produced. It's ~$100M budget was financed 1/4 by Warner (the only "Hollywood" money in it) and 3/4 by investors from all over the world.

End of Watch 7/10

Could have done better without the gimmicky cameras everywhere, some weird editing (top secret DEA or whatever stuff, the chollo meeting night vision cam) and a few other details but in the end I liked it.

nah i dont mean universe (alltho ..), but sg1 and atlantis. They first aired together with bsg in the same night. All 3 shows had great ratings, because of the crossover spectators from the other show (sg/bsg). Then syfy got greedy and stupid, and put each show alone, without a lineup, in a different slot (different night of the week) and ratings dropped, because there was no cross over anymore and no lineup to get another one.

and it really all went to shit, when they started to call it "SyFy" anyways ...

oh and universe was a great show, but it also never got the proper support (lineup, good time slot) and was doomed to fail, as any unsupported tv show does.

Just finished watching The Amazing Spider-Man. Damn, am I glad I watched this. I'm glad they made this in the first place. This is so much better than the old trilogy, mainly because of the actor that plays Peter Parker/Spidey. Absolutely loved it and I can't wait for the next one! Both the movie and the game were a surprise this year.

wtf did i just watch. What an incoherent mess. I had a hard time watching and following what was happening on the screen. And i actually enjoyed the other RE movies. But this ? Pure reeking garbage from start to end.

I love me some dumb fun cgi-filled popcorn action! Been waiting for this for ages Very Happy

Well, when you're right, you're right Sad

Just watched it and damn... It was totally utterly completely terrible Sad

And this from someone who has thus far really enjoyed the film franchise... sure they're dumb, but they're fun!! Even the last one had its charms... It felt like it had scale, and coherant story progression....

But RE retribution was just a shitty effort, I don't think Anderson actually tried. Maybe this was him basically begging the studio to stop making these... It had no sense of scope, scale or grandeur, it was incoherent, shitty characters, bad acting (even by the franchises standards), and was just generally boring.

Only good bits were the giant monster thing, which really shoulda had more screen time, and the last 20 seconds.

I think he was trying to fullfill a nerd/RE fanboy wet dream. With all the game characters, cliches, overall cheesiness, hot actresses in spandex and monsters. It had stupid plot that was just a background for a sequence of actions scenes.
Although as I wrote before I had zero expectations and enjoyed the action scenes more then I probably should Wink Plus hot chicks. And tbh I really don't like any movie from this franchise.

RE: RE - RE (geddit? Cool Face)

for me, the films always seem to suck harder the closer the filmmakers try to mirror the game.

thats why the first films were so much better, because they were just doing their own thing... but its just getting worse and worse.

also, the plot background in this last one... let me get this straight... umbrella was making the bulk of its money from selling world-ending plagues to the superpowers? i know the company is constantly portrayed as being thick as fuck, but bringing that across into the films is just... i mean...

it hurts, is what it does.. it just hurts. it just makes the whole thing so utterly surreal and pathetic, especially given that testing and justification of the whole master plan is the core concept of this flimsy film... atleast in the original it was portrayed as medical experimentation gone wrong and escaped... now its 'we were engineering the end of the world, because we were going to make money from it'.

and how were you going to spend this money when the world... when society... collapses, and youre all running for your very lives?

well, we're going to... you see its like... because... we... SHUT UP.
