Wow that patch is awesome, first it needed 16GB of free space just to start downloading and now it's stuck, yay Laughing

And because the trainer disguise tweak no longer works, Absolution is put on hold. Luckily AC3 and FC3 will keep me company.

The patch basically kept my PC hostage for the whole downloading+installing process since my HDD was working like a crazy and couldn't even open firefox. Razz

Oh so it's not only me with the extreme HDD usage when it was patching Very Happy
It happened to a few other games before too Sad
Too bad that "great" patch didn't had the disguise fix already in it. So waiting for the trainer update. Sad

Whats up with the white gradient on top of the screen, this is worse than Assassins Creed.
Im at the Balls of Fire level now and its horrible there, looks like half my screen is damaged.

Exactly! It's this weird tint that shows up on the top part of the screen. I thought I was the only one seeing noticing this. Razz

This happened to me now with the Shogun 2 patch (only it's 1.2gb!). Don't have Absolution on Steam.

Refused to do steam hardware survey... Steam locks up PC during downloading...

Haha I don't know if it's a conspiracy but yes, it happened with the Shogun update too. It's incredibly annoying (and strange) that even updating the game can be so aggressive and demanding. Will try to investigate. Razz

Unfortunately not. I wasn't too arsed about it either. It's just one of those thing you learn to ignore, for the greater good of the game. Wink

I love how in Blood Money you can walk into any level with a cop in it, execute 20 civilians, walk away and do your business or finish the level

One maid dies in Absolution and the entire world is after you

What an amazing story

The story is hardly based on the police chasing 47 because of that, thats actually just a few levels that you need to deal with the police chasing you.

nothing about how they packaged hitman makes sense to me. a 7gb patch? is that true? im glad i finished and uninstalled before that shit happened, it would have ruined my fucking data cap.

and as for the games install.... its just nuts that it needed so much space to install. no other steam game, far as ive seen, has done shit THAT way. it just downloads what it needs and then sets up (takes half a min for a big game, maybe?) and youre a way.

hitman absolution is just batshit bonkers, why on earth would they set shit up this way?

Steam downloads 370 MB update, but the size of updated files is over 16 GB.Their installer packed it to 7.7 GB. They are not allowed to release Xdelta or any kind of Diff patching. They are forced to upload plain updated files.
They stole everything from the famous underground russian forum and repacked it. Executable in their crack folder is the same and it cannot be the same if not stolen, because this is CEG.(Protection generates unique .executable for every Steam user).
