Similar thing happened to me last year with Amazon. Bought a game, activated key..few days later got an email that apparently there was a problem with the serial, and they gave me a new one. So I got 2 games for the price of 1.

There is patch for that gog carma pack on gog forums.
it makes carmageddon COMPLETELY compatibilit with win7. sound, high resolution, 60fps galore
