Haha,I waited this game for so long that in order to TRY the PS3 version I had to update the FW to 4.30. Before that I haven't started my ps3 in about 6 months -> 1 year.
First impression is,laggy as hell,looks ok in motion,pad for shooting sucks(I did know that already) and so far it seems a mix of FC2 and AC3. :/
Hunting plants and animals(feels like I'm playing that crappy AC3 again) in FC2...ugh. But it's required at first since you gotta craft health syringes and stuff. Shooting mechanic is good though.
Only played for 1-1.5 hours and I gotta go to sleep,but for now I hope it's better than FC2,so far it seems very similar(without the checkpoints)...not judging it yet.
I went to a gaming event where Farcry 3 was being played, I specificly mentioned the issues with the FOV to a number of play testers and a developer.

i played both the MP and SP at gamescom. both parts were running on pc's and there were kb&mice and 360 controllers everywhere. when i got to the SP part, i told the ubisoft girl standing there that i didn't need the controller. she was actually surprised and said that the demo wasn't "optimized" for kb&m controls and she didn't know what the keys were mapped to.
