i know that i'm a dick, but i preodered this, got the beta key, and intend to cancel it.

sole reason beign that they dont sell it in europe with the beta key promotion.
i added the beta key just fine on my eu account, in case someone else wants to be a dick to.

yeah and last time I checked you could only play ladder 1v1, no team games, but maybe that was changed by now.

I also enjoyed single player too. Playing on hard, and trying to do the achievements was just enough trying for me, to make it fun, but not discouraging.

Is it gonna be a free patch for SC2, or will they ask for money as standalone game?
If it's latter I won't even bother considering I suck at multiplayer, getting my ass handed to me even in bronze league Laughing Just gonna download it and play through campaign.

i sold my sc2 wings account so this one is pass for me, gonna check iso demo for campaign and move on to something else.

Wouldn't it use the only online single player experience so well known from D3?

http://www.shacknews.com/article/77496/blizzard-all-stars-held-up-by-new-business-model

Quote:
We haven't heard much from Blizzard's own entry into the Dota clone arena, Blizzard All-Stars, since the developer settled/lost its trademark dispute with Valve, but fear not, "it's still actively being worked on." That's the word from StarCraft 2 production director Chris Sigaty, who says it's held up while Blizzard works on bits for its business model. While Blizzard still won't formally confirm it'll be free-to-play, it's looking awfully likely.

"A lot of the stuff that's remaining right now that we need to focus on are the systems necessary to pull off a game with a different business model than StarCraft 2," Sigaty told Eurogamer.

"StarCraft 2 is a box. We intend to do something different with the business model in Blizzard All-Stars, something more closely resembling the other types of games in that genre, the MOBA-style games that are out there today, and being able to sell smaller amounts of things to players, the things they want."

The standard MOBA model is a free-to-play game which makes money from selling character unlocks and cosmetic pretties like skins and hats, as seen in Dota 2, League of Legends, and heaps more. Blizzard All-Stars was originally planned as a free custom game mode for SC2, but plans have grown as time wore on.

"We'll go into more details about that in the future but I suspect you will not have to have StarCraft 2 to play [it]," Sagity said. We're definitely emphasizing it as its own product in the future."

Maybe Blizzard should get out of the gaming business and in to the movie business. As always, their videos look spectacular.

Got a question. Is Heart of the swarm worth buying for someone who is a newbie at playing RTS online? I watched some replays of people playing and they're clicking buttons so fast I couldn't even get my head around that.

I mean I understand what they're doing but my mortal brain can't process the speed.

Seeing that this comes out in a few days, I'm having trouble deciding.

Did enjoy the SP campaign of Wings of Liberty a lot though.

You'll get better by playing... and the online matchmaking system divides players into divisions and leagues which roughly match their skill (bronze, silver, gold etc.). It works reasonably well, and allows you to improve while progressing through the ranks.

On a side note, does anyone remember roughly how long it took to crack sc2:WoL (the singleplayer campaign)? Was it more than 24h?
