I tested a bit and currently using these values on Expert:
ai_DisguiseDetectionDistanceMultiplier=0.7
ai_VisibilityDistanceMultiplier=0.8
ai_AttentionGainMultiplier=1.1
this only makes the game slightly easier and AI less superhuman
on expert the values seem to be 1.0,1.0,1.5 (higher = more difficult)
-1.0 = dynamic difficulty scaling
My windows isn't genuine is that gonna create more problems?
daz loader, kurwa.
I see that ixi is not helping your old ass getting up to date with this tech stuff.
Slightly on-topic: I've been playing Blood Money (my first hitman game ever) and I think I start to see some of the charms of the series.
The opera mission was quite good

Dayem! Better late than never
Besides, I was browsing my folder with lulz pics before and look what I found:
I think I made it when you said that you weren't interested in the Hitman franchise (it was months ago xD)
Im loving the game. Idk why ppl say it's derpified, sure, if you go for the instinct or w/e every 10 sec it sure as hell gonna be derpified. But try to do a stealth/suit only/just go for the target run and tell me it's easy. Without the (even by me, i confess) abuse of quick save and quick load. In my opinion the game is as derp as you want to be. And i like it. If you want to learn routes, go stealth etc..., there's a game for you. If you want to be less stealthy and take advantage of disguises to help on those tight spots, this game is for you too. If you want to go COD style, i'm pretty sure you're kinda screwed, but even that seems doable
Agreed. Here's an essay how and the ways to finish the Terminus Hotel (I can't stop playing this mission ), purist, 0 use of instinct, suit only/disguises, no kills, knockouts (unless specified) or detections with any of 'em and all with the best rating (Shadow).
Part 1:
Spoiler:
Two ways with suit only - retrieve evidence (the guest talking to the manager won't mind you being there, the guard and the woman will) and either go through the right alley (if you do wait for the that annoying woman to stop speaking or through the restroom vent, down the laundry chute (or the stairs) beware of the janitor and the guards obviously, the electricians don't mind you are there. The electrician will "spot" you if he sees you calling the elevator. Disable fusebox. Call elevator. Hide in the back. If you went through the restroom, you have to hide from the janitor as well.
Two (maybe 3) ways to get the free janitor uniform - Sewers, vent where the electrician is standing in the water or through the restroom. Might even be doable if you wait for the janitor and the electrician to stop talking and go by the makeshift bridge or whatever it is. Bonus: you can activate the generator and fry the electrician standing in the water this way (just for fun). Haven't tested the last way. The rest is easy... You can also knock out the janitor that comes peeking down to the elevator below.
Distract the electrician on the right hand side by throwing a wrench, sprint to the wrench, pick it up, go back to the truck, subdue him once he goes around it. Go into the alley, so the guard starts the patrolling routine. Distract the guard that is not patrolling, drag the body to the dumpster, go into the hotel, up the stairs, call for the elevator (the electrician will spot you if he sees you, rest won't), retrieve the evidence (nobody will mind), enter the elevator.
One way with the free guard uniform (or two, haven't tested, just theorizing) - go either through the restroom vent or through the door the janitor goes through, and the window, wait for the guard routine and go through the door, pick up the uniform on the washing machines, go down the chute (can do it down the stairs as well) and the rest of the way is similar to the second way with suit-only.
Part 2:
Spoiler:
I'll only outline the methods here (I usually pick up the film reel first):
1. Get the reel by going into the vent in the restroom (free janitor uniform in this room, though pretty useless I guess)
2. Keycard door - you can get keycards in 2 rooms with the guests or knocking out one of the maids in the room with the janitor uniform (all doable with suit only)
3. Through the window near the keycard door, distract the guard, watch out for the maid.
4. Through the police tape and activating the fire alarm, making the guards clear the stairs, argue in the lobby, allowing you to go upstairs.
5. Fire escape - I don't think this can be done unless you play the movie for the guards and for that you have to activate the fire alarm. Anyway, sabotage the speakers, wait for the guy to start repairing them (hide behind the desk) and go in the door, through the window. You can get the evidence this way, but only if you start the movie. Lots of trial and error.
Floor 8:
1. Bear route - either through the lobby (gotta wait for them to get called by the other guard) or through the window, distract the guard and go through it. I got the evidence just fine by going the window route, lobby route might require for you to start the projector.
2. Projector route - start the projector, wait for the guard by the desk to go inside the lobby (if you stand by him he'll rotate right always) go into the lobby and you can do the window route (useless I guess, it's shorter, faster and easier to go into the lobby and by the guard). Should be possible to get the evidence, haven't tried it.

The only thing I don't like is that I can't seem to save my mission progress, quit the game and then comeback and resume from where I left it

How to get past the B-Platform at the train station (I can't seem to activate the train)? I just wander around, nothing is happening...
Spoiler:
tnx dude, I've seen that, but I retried the level 5x and can't seem to get the train to come... perhaps there's something to do with my police officer uniform, which I can't get rid of

Nope. I finished it with a cop uniform. Go to the end of platform, ledge, inside window, second floor, use computer, back out, take the stairs to the other side then when you arrive a msg should appear that the train will arrive in 60 sec.
Hitman Absolution in the UK is the best selling (at launch) Hitman game, selling 3x the amount of copies Blood Money did (again at launch, but logically, it'll be the best in lifetime sales as well).
Congrats.

I know it is hard to compare (different settings, FPS vs TPS,..). I have installed Hitman and Dishonored and can't decide what to play first. Both are tempting. I like gameplay, movement and overall gameplay of Dishonored (don't like rats, magic, fantasy world), and opposite for Hitman
ZX Spectrum 16K/48K | Grundig C410 cassette recorder (adjustable head) | 20BT TV Philips Multistandard Color V37cm | ZX Interface 2 | New Kempston Compatible Competition Pro Switched Joystick | Sinclair BASIC OS
That's a matter of opinion, so far Dishonored blows this not just out of the water, but all the way to fucking Pluto for me. So much more freedom in Dishonored, I find the lack of that in a goddamn Hitman game extremely aggravating.
I agree about the freedom part, but the levels in dishonored just arent fun enough to replay, if not just for the fact that you lose your powers again if you replay a level where you only had 2 powers. And its the same shit in each level, blink behind enemy, kill him, next.
Hitman could have had alot more freedom and stuff. But its not like dishonored has that much freedom, its still pretty linear. There are just 2 levels or so where you can actually approach stuff multiple ways. The rest is just linear. But yeah matter of opinion I guess.
What pisses me off about Hitman is how easily it could have been 10 times better. It's a bunch of confused and clumsy design decisions holding it back. They have all the elements in place.... Sigh.
