How dangerous is this with Steam? I know if this were a multiplayer game it would be most likely picked up as a hack and VAC bans would be everywhere, but... Singleplayer? And do the options stay after quitting out? Or do you have to re-apply them every time you play?

Yeah it's going to be a bit difficult to find what works and how it works.
DeathDelay=10.0 (Was 3 I think, I guess it lets you lie on the ground being really dead a while longer before the main menu screen appears.)
DisablePostProcessor=0.0 / 1.0 (I can't tell if this did anything, at least not on the current level.)
EDIT: Also the legit Steam version has a sort of anti-cheat scan system so if the game suddenly exits (Usually while loading a level.) that's what was triggered.
(Happened once so far, best is to start the game, load the level and then use the injector or well so far I've had best results with that.)

did anybody manage to use x360ce with the game? so far i cannot make it detect my usb gamepad and this is a first.
i had similar problem with Dead Rising 2: OTR, but there i just had to turn off the force feedback. it does not work here and i kinda want to play the game with a gamepad.
any ideas would be appreciated.

^ same here,wireless 360 pad works fine.
though i'm having too many random crashes to desktop to bother playing the game at the moment.
it crashes with the 'this app needs to close message' in the background while game is still showing on screen.

So I updated gfx drivers, sound drivers, windows (Vista32 sp2), installed shitload of .net framework versions, vc++ and still no luck. I only managed to get to logos by using buddha.dll from blops2 update. But black screen then and I have to quit it using task manager. Time to move to win7 probably. Or buy PS3 version

Perhaps he is not using a 360/Xinput pad? I thought that is when people normally use the x360ce thingy
yup, probably there will be no issues with 360 gamepads, as windows supports them by default.
x360ce is a software that helps make windows think that any usb PC gamepad is a 360 gamepad. as far as i know a lot of people are using the software so that they can play games without having to buy xbox controller.
usually there are no problems whatsoever with the games detecting the software with minor exceptions, but this game does not detect the gamepad at all. with Dead Rising OTR it was almost the same, but when i unclicked the Force Feedback option the game detected the gamepad flawlessly. here this does not help.

Re-installing the latest DirectX redist afterwards might also help albeit it mostly deals with extension files and not the core D3D files albeit it's still very important - http://www.microsoft.com/en-us/download/details.aspx?id=8109
(But it hasn't been updated in ages, now DirectX is part of the Windows SDK, Crysis 3 appears to be using that judging by the advanced d3d11 files it included with the alpha test.)

Is there a "Suit only" challange for that mission? If not then clearly devs did not provide a suit only way.
Unfortunately there is a Suit Only challenge on that mission. And i gotta say, holy hell, shit's impossible. I think it's been an hour trying to figure out how to kill the 2 guys and then subduing the target. Till now i only found how to kill one of them.Actually i found how to kill the other one, but i have to cross a small room with 7 (7!!!) guards to get to the damn lighter fluid
This is the max you can get. The bastard on the first place is cheater. There is no way to make this points as if you poison food of the chef it will drag 310 points for pacification and when you dump body you have them even. Only way to get 310 extra points is to dumb the body of the guy you take the card from. And that gives you 34, 100 K. Headshot + Dumb body = 0 points so no way getting extra with killing as well.
I guess you can earn 310 points extra in the second mission if you pass it with drug poisoning, but on pursuit it will be insane to pass trough back alley

Did anybody else get this "Application Error" crash / windows message (0xc0000005) when trying to start "Hitman Absolution" ?
Its even mentioned in a steam forum thread but nobody seem to have a solution.
I tried the usual (windows update, drivers, runtime libraries) but no success. The game wont start
I guess there's a lot more one could question but finding a solution could be difficult, though if a lot of people get this problem there must be something in common.
Could also try using the launcher and set everything to the lowest possible in windowed mode and lower resolution in case that's causing some issue but if it crashes on start-up it seems unlikely to be the problem.
EDIT: Oh right, Firewall and Anti-Virus, exceptions and what else, also doubtful unless you are using a crack and the AV solution is going crazy on the injector dll.
