keep in mind on the whole its not the American public, its the people in power, or in positions of power.

Yeah, but who voted these people into power? Rolling Eyes

If you're referring specifically to the Bush administration, and you properly should be since it's mostly his support base that advocates this sort of crap, that would be Jeb Bush, with the cooperation of the Supreme Court of the United States.

Plenty of evidence pointing to election chicanery in 2004 as well.

Even if it was legit in 2004, Bush won by a tiny percentage, and characterized it as some kind of major mandate. His popularity and approval numbers continue on their predictable downward slide, if a little belated IMO.

Not very flattering generally to the intelligence of the American public in any case.

Wait until Fitzgerald starts handing out the indictments. That will be a great day.

What GTA really needs is a mod that creates missions where you can kill bible-thumping neocon fundies...now THAT I would enjoy.

ps: Btw manwithplanxyz who are the "europeons" in your banner?
Europeans don't hate "americans" (they are mainly not as stupid to generalize like that) some just hate your crappy gov and your foreign policy, which is biased since decades. Btw don't you know that it is your CIA that put Saddam Hussein in place in 1963? rofl isn't it? yep and now that at least 1/1000 iraqi are dead for your dreams/lies on WMD i hope that you are pleased.
For my part i hate nationalists and you seems to be one of them.

re the iraqis: and thats a bad thing how exactly?long live Israel, oh wait a minute im British.

"The Sims is loved by so many people, even people who don't even play games. They don't care about GTA,"

Because GTA wasn't the best selling game for PS2. right. And it wasn't very popular at all with the PC crowd...

Anyways.... Don't warnings on the box say "rating may change if used online" or some such phrase which clears them legally? I know the last box I looked at did, forgot what game tho (maybe BF2?)

As I said, all conservatives suck, whether they align themselves as democrats or republicans.

Yep for games with online play the rating clearly says "Game experience may change during online play."

But it's not on the box of non-online games. Like I'm looking at my Max Payne 2 box and it's not on it.

Ahh ok that makes sense.

Looks like the offline games will start having to say that especially if they include the content (as fucking stupid as the FCC is... rockstar games should have had some kind of warning like this)

You're missing the point. The crowd that plays the Sims is much larger and different from that that plays GTA. Sure there are crossovers but they are in the minority. There is also many more older people who play the sims as well. They carry alot more weight than a 14 year old.
They expect much larger uproar over trying to change the rating on TS2 than with GTA.

Get this: this dipshit grandmother bought the game, which was still rated for 17 and older at the time, for her 14 YEAR OLD grandson, and now she's suing because of the sex content.

http://abcnews.go.com/Technology/wireStory?id=982742

Quote:
A woman upset that she bought the video game "Grand Theft Auto: San Andreas" for her 14-year-old grandson without knowing it contained hidden, sexually explicit scenes sued the manufacturer Wednesday on behalf of consumers nationwide.

Florence Cohen, 85, of New York, said in the lawsuit filed in U.S. District Court in Manhattan that the game's manufacturer, Rockstar Games, and its parent company, New York-based Take Two Interactive Software Inc., engaged in false, misleading and deceptive practices.

So what penalty does she face for providing a "M" game to a minor?

And I love how she sues because it has a hidden sex mini-game which he probably didn't even see. Not because of the violence, language, subject matter, etc. Cause of the sex. Figures. I'm really starting to get sick of this shit.

doesnt this all sound a bit like something out of the Southpark Movie, where the Americans go after the Canadians saying that mindless violence is ok as long as you dont use any swear words. lol who wouldve thought shit like that could happen in reall life.

the best thing is that she bought the game late 2004 when it was released for PS2 only
you can't unlock these scenes in PS2 version of the game
there is nothing wrong with the PS2 version

Do some research before time dude...You CAN unlock them on the PS2 using either a gameshark or an action replay. I think every GTA website lists the Action Replay codes you can use to unlock the mini game.
