I cannot stand Connor. I just finished sequence 8 and i want him to fail. I know he won't but sometimes when i die i feel more happy then when i succeed. What a self righteous asshole. Also i hate the fact he has our time values and morals.

Hmm, I'm experiencing the freeze at the beginning, on the "Inspired by ..." screen. Strange thing is that if I use my integrated graphics card instead, I can get into the menu (albeit the fps are absolutely unplayable), but if I use my GT555M driver, it just freezes. Any1 managed to fix this?

Ugh, nevermind...
My FPS plummited once I got to Boston, it's around 40 or so.
CPU usage is about 50% and gpu is around 80% so fuck this bunghole....
Also getting random "has stopped working" crashes as I did before.

Since when is 40 fps bad? I am actually happy with my performance. I am running an old Q6600 with a 460 gtx OC and having no issues using normal settings except the textures and shadows bumped up to 2, 1080p. I don't know my exact fps but rarely do I find a stuttering scene (I am into boston winter).

I can't help it if people don't upgrade their stuff to be able to play at atleast 60 fps.
In the competitive scene, anything under 60 is bad
Let me put it otherwise, if you like stuttering, then anything under 60 is ok, otherwise not

True dat my friend..
But, compared to other games, this game is just a bad port. I mean, if I keep staring at the ground i get my 60fps.. but as soon as I look up, it drops down to ~30 ... Fuck you gamestar, you liars!

Ok, so it turns out that the game turns on V-sync and disabling it through the ini boosts performance through the roof. Suddenly I'm getting 90+ FPS.
Just hope I don't get anymore application hangs.
Also yes, I consider anything that feels choppy bad. In this case it was low fps combined with Vsync on. I agree, this isn't BF3 or CoD where maxing out FPS is that important but when the game feels choppy then that becomes a problem and for me it was choppy at 40FPS.

That makes no sense at all. Vsync should only cap your framerate to your refresh rate. There hasn't been framerate halving in ages due to practically every new game using triple buffering and there never was framerate halving if the sub-60fps was the result of CPU limitation like it is with AC3.

I know, that's why I was surprised as fuck when suddenly my framrates jumped back to "normal".
And my CPU never went over 60%. It's an FX-8350 @ 4.4Ghz, it's not the CPU.

Please check a few pages back and post a screenshot of your framerate in the location illustrated in my screenshot.
I'm getting the exact same framerate in that spot after disabling the vsync setting in the ini file.

Errr, what a big typo from my part. It was supposed to be 60+. But also that wasn't so since it seems I just ran into a "good" part of the map.
Ohh well...
But it's still pretty shitty that the game doesn't play at 60FPS.

FUCK SAKE. I paid for a deluxe edition from gmg and when i activated the key on uplay it doesn't say deluxe edition and i have the choice to pay for season pass and all that bullshit that was supposed to come with it.

It's a dead-end but the file can be found in your user folder under assassin's creed 3.

I enterted my key while in-game as well, this unlocked a fuckload of stuff for me. |

Got my key from Ubisoft. Installed the Theta .iso's last night (without the crack), just had to run the game and enter the serial. It's now on my Uplay account.

@no9999: seems to be a problem with the 5x0 series. my 570 either crashes back to desktop or causes a complete freeze, happens after 30 seconds to max 5 min ingame. have looked at the official forums and there are many reports from people with the same problem (i think all on geforce 500 series), but no solution

That Pitcairn guy, you're supposed to chase him (And avoid tackling others as a bonus objective.) but we've run six laps around New York so far and he's still going in a circle, this can't be right can it?
(Still doing OK with the bonus objective but this is getting annoying.)
EDIT: Restarted the memory entirely and tried again but he's still doing it so I guess I'm stuck now.
