A short video of the AI of Star Citizen attacking and defending the Bengal Class Carrier. It demonstrates intelligent collision avoidance - a dense asteroid field, other space ships, including a large capital ship plus offensive and defensive roles.

NOTE: This is very early pre-pre Alpha. There was a bug with laser bolt speed in this build and they were incorrectly capped at a very low speed. That is not how they will behave in the game. But we thought the video was awesome enough to show you anyway!

I'm still not sure if I should support Elite..eh.

Btw I recieved no purchase confirmation email, no transaction number etc. Only the subscriber email. That's really strange - what if I ll decide to refund? Or will have any problems with the purchase in the future?

No, we have no bears on the streets here in Russia.

I don't believe you get to ask for a refund - you're not actually paying for a game; you're gifting money to support the development - you just happen to get a copy at the end.

Even after you get the game and it's crap (which it won't be)m you can't ask for your money back as you never specifically bought it.

So Much Win

God if thats a preprepre alpha, then .... well, I just hope my rig can handle the finished game Laughing

And I know they're placeholders... but is it just me who thinks the laser bolt gfx are damned awesome just as they are? (obviously with impact effects later on)

My pledge is good enough already (digital $35 one) I don't care about having 17 fanciful ships in the closet ready to wear everyday Razz

Can someone clarify what is happening with this insurance thing they are selling now? I'm a bit confused. I did the $250 tier. Does that not get the insurance? Is it totally separate? I don't quite understand.

All pledge ships come with lifetime insurance. If your ship is destroyed, it is replaced with a new one, less any cargo or custom weapons/equipment. For those that buy ships later, they have to purchase insurance separately, and it only lasts for a limited time.

http://www.robertsspaceindustries.com/the-pledge-and-grace-period/

And they also posted The Pledge.

http://www.robertsspaceindustries.com/the-pledge/

It is weird how bad I want to buy extra ships still even though I know the 35 dollar pledge is more than enough. hnnngggg must not buy..

acquiring ships on your own is what makes games such as this fun. Think about that!

Perhaps you might think about the fact that your definition of what makes a game fun is not a universal maxim that applies to everyone.

Did it sound like defined a universal law on how to enjoy this type of game? You need to shut the fuck up if you can't comprehend a lighthearted point which was meant to remind you the feeling of getting your own ships. If you can sit there and tell me the feeling of getting a ship you've worked for for hours on end is not an awesome feeling then i'll simply say you're lying. Clearly you think the same as you can't decide to do it or not so i have no fucking clue what you're rambling on about.

No Kenny, there's also the "other" kind of people. The assholes that like to get their shit and then only go after others because it makes their dick go hard (at least, I can't imagine any other reason). Preferably people who have just spawned and can't defend themselves. Just look at the glitching/camping cunts in DayZ (or any other FPS for that matter).

I really want to smack every single person who stats such ridiculous nonsense. I've played wow for a long time and i play on a pvp server where people get corpsecamped while leveling by max levels quite frequently and if you complain all you get is "This is a pvp server, if you can't take it get out and play on a pve server"
People seem to never be able to grasp the concept of being in that situation themselves, or grasp the fact that you don't join a pvp server to pvp against max level while you're low level yourself Laughing

Reason i've not started playing DayZ. I'll just wait and see if the stand alone client is better. Seems fixed spawn points doens't work for that game.

"PvP" in Star Citizen would be in certain designated zones. So unless you enter such a zone on your own peril, you can relax and single/co-play against pirates or run a trading business or whatever else there is to do.

Question is though if you get punished for attacking people in safe zones or if it's not possible at all. Seems they borrow some ideas from Eve so who knows. I like Eve, i just can't stand not being in direct control of my ship.

No need to get your panties in a twist, angry internet man. If your idea of a good time is starting with nothing and grinding away for hours/days/weeks/months to scrape together enough cash to buy a decent ship, then more power to you. For myself, I'd much rather skip over all that bullshit and cut to the chase. Puttering around the galaxy is the thing I'm interested in, not simulating struggle and adversity. I have real life for that.
