Not sure about the hunting but I am certain that there are side missions that reward you with weapons.

Only for crossfire tho, 1 card is running ok-ish (with having ingame AA on normal), tho my card is as single quite behind in performance compared to cards these days.

Maxed out here, there's really nothing of note. Thus far I did not see any issues with LOD and so on. I am a tiny bit annoyed by the level of detail on their faces, though. There is no tesselation to speak of. Main characters look alright but secondary ones or those that make not more than a few appearances look like crap.
Also, I've been staying in offline mode ever since I activated it.
Just got to the part where I could play as Connor, instantly warmed up to his character, as opposed to Haytham. I suppose seeing how he came to be and the things that shaped him made a difference, just as it was with Ezio.

With me it was the opposite. Something about Haythams wit and charm just made me enjoy playing that character. The little i've played of connor makes me think of him as a blockhead.

AMD does it as well, they just don't advertise it as much. Not a secret that GSC and Valve worked with ATI quite a bit (with Source it took Nvidia a hardware revision to make HDR+AA possible, with GSC ATI were the ones who came up with the faux-AA X-Ray originally had). What I haven't heard AMD doing is the bags of money like with Rocksteady (yes, I'm deliberately picking high profile examples ), where a VID change was enough to magically make your card do AA, even though "the hardware wasn't capable of doing it" 
From what I can tell in this case though, it's just shoddy programming, there are Nvidia users (with older cards mostly though) having strange issues as well.
Edit: also a bit of an exaggeration that Nvidia sends developers to optimise, that only happens in fairly extreme cases (mostly when PhysX is paid for). What does happen, same with AMD, are that developers get render paths sent to them that feature optimisations.
