I've just tried it and i'm a little bit dissapointed on this game
about the performance.

I'm running it on a decent configuration :
Athlon 64 3800+ Venice + Geforce 7800 GTX + 2Go DDR1
and the game is absolutely not optimized at all.

I've got 42 FPS on 1280x960 res with AF on (4x)
but without AA. As soon as i activate the AA (and i can
assure you it's necessary at the beginning when they
are a lot of stairs...) and suddenly the fps drops downto
19 fps Crying or Very sad Crying or Very sad

I think they have a problem on this game with AA
since it is de-activated in the options panel when you
autodetect the settings.

I'll conclude : if they do not improve the 3d engine
performance with the retail version i'm sure that a lot
of us will be deceived.

i dont think its the game !!!
your drivers i think !!!

Hi,

My drivers are ok (forceware 77.72) and no other
shitty program is running in background.

This configuration runs Far Cry, Doom 3 or HL2
at 80-90 fps with all gfx options set to max.

BTW the problem jsut happened at the beginning of
the demo when you climb down the stairs, after the
game runs more smoothly (between 45 and 80 fps)

I made the trial in SLI mode with 2 geforce 7800gtx
and the game is very unstable (3d engine frozen
after several minutes) but no problem when sli mode
is disabled.

Let's hope that Nvidia will release updated forceware
drivers with a specific SLI profile for this game ! Very Happy

Game of the year.. simple as that..

Runs great here, looked as though I would get some slow down on the bosses so Ive text a friend asking for a X800 (he appears to have 4 :\).. Needless to say, I am very impressed.. I could see myself completing that game.

Yep,

Do not waste your bw with HTTP/FTP download servers : most
of the time with big files, the dl are corrupted (i experienced it
several times...)

Select a torrent file (from filerush.com or 3dgamers.com) with
Azureus or another bitorrent client) and you will be sure that
you dl is not corrupted at the end (2hours for me for the demo
with filerush torrent Wink )

"

We've seen some reports of users downloading the demo and then it not opening. This appears to be an error with the download and we are investigating.

In the meantime - try going back and downloading the file from a different location. I know this is not a perfect solution, but it is the best option at the moment.

Please be patient.
