After manual referring. I'll refer you if you refer me Razz .

You can get a bonus skin if you pledge only 5 dollars on ks if you've already pledged on the rsi website. Or bonus skins if you pledge additionally on the rsi website. Other than that, I don't know.

I'm thinking about not pledging to Elite as Frontier and David Braben seem to be pretty arrogant and think they can cruise to their pledge total with little to no effort on their part.

As much as I want another Elite game I won't support a developer who isn't passionate about their own project.

Communication and passion is everything to a kickstarter project and I've seen little of either from Frontier and DB.

No I don't think so. Kickstarter takes the money at end date and I guess RSI takes the money immediately. The rewards seem to be the same or very similar tho.

That's magnificent! Five days to raise just shy of $500k? That's certainly not impossible or unheard of Smile The out-of-ship combat idea sounds fun ... but I really hope they're not just reaching now, I'm not sure why but the sound of it just seems like a stretch.

Elite kickstarter is vaporware/cash grab.

+1, im hoping its not over reaching/trying to promise too much in order to raise more money. But if they can do half of what they're aiming for I'll be happy.

I've pledged £50 to Elite, but if they don't step up and make the effort to prove there is the chance of a completed project, then i will be cancelling my pledge nearer to the end time that's a certainty.

I keep thinking, and hoping!, for something similar to Battlefront II. Ship-to-ship combat in space and the ability to board enemy capital/battleships and attack them from the inside, fighting AI and human opponents in FPS mode, taking out key systems and flying out of there before the ship blows.

That gives me a full on woody Very Happy

Remember 3Dmark 2001 or 2003 with an animated scene from the matrix and also a space battle where a group of commandos jumped out of their ship right into space? I want exactly that.

Well, yeah, the AI was pretty hilarious in BF .. the whole game, both ground and space combat, was just whack-a-mole grinhurt However, after reading more of their internal document detailing boarding, it seems they're going for a more difficult solution -- you can't board until you've fully disabled propulsion and then cut your way into the hull. Sounds fun but a lot more restricted than in BF where you just fly into the hangar and start blasting Very Happy

Suddenly the opening scene from 'A New Hope' springs to mind. I want to be Darth Vader, striding in behind all my Stormtroopers after cutting their way into the ship. surveying the carnage and just acting all menacingly, like.

And I want a lightsword.

I really wish he'd focus on the spacesim part and flesh that out more. All those extra features sound cool on paper but I get the feeling all of them will end up very shallow.

2 more years until the game is done, i'm pretty sure they'll flesh it out during that time.

So guys, I'd like to contribute to this, and in the process get Alpha/Beta access. Which package do you recommend? And what's the difference between standard and "digital"?

All packages (well, $30 game-level and higher) come with Alpha and Beta access.. and the difference between standard and digital is exactly what it says; standard comes in a box and on a disc, digital is download only.

Uhm, on the RSI site, the $35 options (one Digital, one non-Digital) was that the non-Digital came with a physical citizenship card that would be mailed towards xmas (add $5 for shipping).

I'm talking about Early Adopter and Early Adopter (Digital), both $35. No physical disc shipped. Not sure if the kickstarter variants are different.
