Everything is playable. For old 3.55 psn games, just reencrypt them with 3.56+ keys as already stated before.

Is it safe to upgrade directly from 3.55cfw to 4.30 rogero or do I have to revert to 3.55ofw first? Thanks.

Ah you mean on 3.55 CFW. No starhawk isn't playable on 3.55 CFW.
I suggest you update to 4.2X CFW if you want to play this one, because it's a pain to fix it for 3.55 SDK.

What rogero like f/w and whats the risks etc.. with it.
I really dont like Rebug its too hacky (or was when I last used it) I just want a basic f/w, I dont need nor want any of this duel kernel stuff.
So with that, can someone just gie me the run down on Rogero's f/w to save me going through 40000000 pages of crap on Psx scrne (or similar)

Yeah but I am having other issues with it.
I put in a hard disk I know works fine (it was pulled from my server and regually used pretty much daily) but FTP transfers fail from time to time (fine that's no doubt Multiman / PC fault) but now I cant delete the folders, either via FTP or File Manager, using either Multiman or blackb0x FTP.
Hard reboot's wont solve it, permissions wont fix it, a format does fix it  I just cant remove the fucking things,
I had shit when 3.55 Rebug and as far as I can see 4.21 is just as bad for the hack job, its fine if it works, but its too flaky on my box for some reason, and I could accept it was my box if it happened on Kmew in the past but that ran flawlessly for 6 - 8 months untill I pulled the hard disk for something else

I can't get Black ops 2 working on Rogero 4.21. When i try to run it, it tells me to update to FW 4.25 or higher. I guess this will be the same on rebug 4.21? Also if i would like to switch to rebug, i know that i first need to downgrade back to 3.55 again but does it matter if i use rogero's or rebug's downgrader to do that?

Rogero 4.30 is fine afaik, but you can't update from 4.21, it just won't allow you. You need to downgrade to 3.55 with that 9.99 PUP, then qa flag (if you never did), then dehash syscon (install any 3.55 FW in Recovery mode), then you can install 4.30 CFW.
PS : to be sure qa flag works (else you will brick if you install a 3.55 FW that doesn't have the lv1 patch), make sure you have the debug settings using the combo.

On rebug 4.21 you will have a 0x8001009 error since index.dat is spoofed to 4.30 but it's still 4.21 for the game.
So either unself/make self the eboot, that will work, or install 1.02 patch for the game, it only needs 4.20 by default while the disc 1.00 eboot is 4.25.
And no doesn't matter, as long as it downgrades back to 3.55, just dont forget to dehash as i stated above.

Just enable qa flag in the rebug toolbox. Absolute best way to be totally sure. It was enabled by default with me, but best to check.

Thanks for the quick reply cyclonefr! So dehashing can be done by installing OFW 3.55 after i have downgraded and setted the QA flag? Also i take it, that rogero 4.30 would be a better chose to install since it's version 4.30 instead of 4.21?

I think you can be rip it from the release, I hope the PS2 classic for the original will be CFW soon instead of downloading the whole release
