I put lights on a bar on the top of my shizz but they don't light up with the normal lights. It only works in the showcase/preview, not on the road.
You have to turn them separately. I don't remember which function key it is, I *think* it's F4. Pressing that opens the lights menu and you can enable the flashing warning light (for when carrying heavy loads) and the additional cab lights too.
Next game update v1.2.0 due to early next week... no changelog yet, but:

I got the trial-end thingy and I used another code, now I've played about 6-7 more hours since then, no rpoblem, weird ... I've also accidentally run it a few times with my firewall disabled
