What are your favorites to make? What do other people want you to make all the time?
I'm terrible and I just bought like $200 worth of alcohol to mess around with, haha...
I don't know much about anything, mostly I just do shots of vodka, but I felt like having some fun, have some company coming over... ;p

Cuba Libre
2 oz Bacardi 8 anos ( dont use white rums )
Coca-Cola
Juice of ½ Lime
i know its a travesty using bacardi considering its called "cuba libre" but since you dont live ina free country you cant buy havana club. It simple to make yet tastes better than most vodka mixes no matter the fruit content and yet special enough to stand out and impress people.

Blue Motorcycle:
1 1/2 oz tequila
fill with sweet and sour mix
1 1/2 oz rum
1 splash 7-Up® soda
1 1/2 oz vodka
1 1/2 oz gin
1 1/2 oz Blue Curacao liqueur
And if you want to make it a fun drink for a party...get a contender with the same drink and slam it through a straw while filling it back up with a redbull.....
Say hello to a crazy fucking nigh tlol

For at home I usually go with simple longdrinks, mostly Gin Tonic (especially Hendricks tonic, which requires 2 slices of cucumber in it) or Vodka-Cranberry/Vodka-Passion Fruit for the ladies.
You would be my personal hero if you could do a kick-ass martini though.

Probably doesn't hit what you want but I'm more a beer guy than spirits (other than single malt of course !).
Michelada
- Salt, for rimming the glasses
- 1/4 cup freshly squeezed lime juice, rinds reserved
- Ice
- 1 1/2 cups light Mexican beer, such as Corona
- 2 teaspoons Worcestershire sauce
- 2 teaspoons hot sauce, such as Tabasco
- 1 teaspoon Maggi or soy sauce
- Freshly ground black pepper, for garnish
1. Place enough salt in a wide, shallow dish to cover the bottom. Rub the rims of two glasses with the reserved lime rinds and dip the glasses into the salt. Fill the glasses with ice and set aside.
2. Place the lime juice, beer, Worcestershire sauce, hot sauce, and Maggi or soy sauce in a pitcher and mix to combine. Pour into the prepared glasses, top with a few grinds of freshly ground black pepper, and serve.

with vodka you can make a caipiroska (caipirinha with vodka instead of cachaça), it's pretty simple...
this recipe is a good one (many others are very weird) and has a video.
http://www.absolutdrinks.com/en/drinks/absolut-caipiroska/
you don't need a lot of sugar, the key is to mix everything well after you add the ice (you can use a big glass, or maybe even a jar for that). A few mint leaves are a good addition too...
oh and strawberries, kiwis and other fruits work well too.

You American's need to start exploring elderflower. Try some gin, some elderflower, some apple juice and half a lime. Pour over crushed ice.

Flaming B-52's
(in 4cl Shotglass)
1/3 Kahlúa
1/3 Baleys Irish Cream
1/3 Grand Manier
a lighter, straws
first pour the Kahlúa in the shotglass (1/3rd) , then, using a coffeespoon, upside down, pour Baleys over the spoon into the glass, also 1/3rd. Clean spoon, then use it again to pour the Grand Manier over the spoon into the glass. The spoon prevents that the 3 liquids mix. Now you have 3 layers. Light it, use straw and drink in one swift go, while it burns.

That sounds like the most disgusting thing anyone could ever come up with. We're talking Toxic Avenger here...

haha, its actually a lot better than it sounds. Its very similar to a bloody mary but with beer. I really enjoyed it when I made it, like a spicy larger !

No worse than a shot of a dirty mexican. It's tablespoon of mayonnaise and fill the rest of the shot glass with tequila.

Am I the only one refined enough to really get pleasure from an old single malt scotch, either an Islay or a Highland variant with various complexities of peat, smoke and aroma from the casks???

Caesar
1 oz Vodka
Clamato juice
Worcestershire sauce
Tabasco sause
Salt and Pepper
Celery Salt.
Rim a glass with Celery Salt, then fill with ice.
Add Vodka and Clamato. Couple drops of Worcestershire, and Tabasco to taste. Dash of salt and pepper. Garnish with celery, pickled asparagus, pickled beans you name it.
Its a Canadian classic drink, and most of you will probably say WTF with Clamato Juice. LOL
