Was so hyped for this when they announced it with loads of cash, brad pitt and a good director. Now its PG-13, in a financial shithole already and everything else
From what I've seen WWZ will be PG-13 since that's the only way it was possible to make it (apparently not a single investor would take a chance on a movie that expensive being R-rated).
Read the book -- couldn't put it down and nearly read it straight for 2 days with long breaks. Incredibly chilling tales on survival against all odds. Little concerned on the PG13 rating and hope they can cover all the stories in the book (as they are broken down fairly easy to put together in a movie). PLEASE DO NOT FOOL THIS ONE UP!

Fair enough - but where did you see info about pg-13?
shitloads of new stuff in my pc. Cant keep track of it all.
Noooooo... That retard will turn WWZ into a limbo bullshit.....
Lindelof should be banned from the movie industry after Prometheus.
Everyone who has had contact with JJ Abrams should be fucking banned!
Lindelof, Orci, Cuse, Kurtzman, Sarnoff..I hope they all fucking die
They must have incredible connections in the movie producing elitosphere, cause they keep getting the best projects and then they adjust and equalize them for the mainstream.
That zombie masses looks hilarious also shitty ragdoll. The only thing that this fragment needs is those zombies turning into chomping ball like the aliens in Critters 2.
The book is WAYYY too cool for a movie anyway. Its strength in the Zombie Apoc meme was the fact it had many incredible scenarios which some of us can relate to as a handbook to surviving the thing and events which could happen. The part with the Geeky Internet-obsessed Kid stuck in the apartment alone was one of many MANY highlights. Book was just incredible.
Oh and re: "Only one man can save the world"
Thats just media hype.. sure it would have been nice to follow all the different scenarios/events in the book but then it becomes a Documentary and that regrettably doesn't equate to "bums in seats" as people want action/fx/story so focusing on a single person people can relate to makes sense.
Still WWZ did not remotely depend on a single person to win it, it depended on "common sense" and "sound strategy" which I thought was so brilliant in this genre. Once more, the book was just wayy too cool to possibility ever been done justice via the big screen.

In an ideal scenario the book would have been turned into a miniseries with a red line from the perspective of the journalist and then each episode would dedicated itself to one of the many stories in the book. Place that on HBO and it would have been awesome!
