i cant really make a comparison, because i havnt used ultramon in years, but im using displayfusion right now and its been great for me. my monitors are different (22 and a 24) so i am not doing multi screen gaming or anything. i just wanted a proper task bar on my secondary. so far its been highly configurable and compatible.

Uhm, if you want to use more than 3 screens, scratch nVidia then. A GTX 680 can only run 3 monitors (nvidia surround).

The GTX 680 allows three Surround monitors to run simultaneously through the GTX 680’s two DVI connectors, single HDMI connector and single DisplayPort connector.

Windows 8 has better multi-monitor support, apparently. Feature-wise, I know that it now has variety of taskbar options for desktop (you can have a taskbar on each screen for example, and it can either show icons for windows that are on that screen, or all the windows). I don't know if there are any other significant improvements.
