It starts out perfectly, registering every strum, then after a while it goes to hell in a handbasket.

That's quite strange. Since it builds up I would normally expect that it is a sound looping through the speakers, but headphones rules that out.
I would possibly try reducing the volume of the mic in Microphone Properties, maybe it's just too sensitive. If it's using Microphone Boost, I'd also reduce that to the minimum just in case.

But since it builds up over time... I'm not sure what could cause that. You can take a look at what the FAQ for the game says on the official forum :
http://forums.ubi.com/showthread.php/716851-Rocksmith-PC-Configuration-and-FAQ-s
Even tho it's unlikely to provide something good, it's always possible that something in Rocksmith Audio Configuration (Advanced Mode) could help you.

(Also to see if the problem comes from the mic or from the game itself, you can try disabling the mic while the game is playing and see if the static keeps building up. If it does, I expect it's the game or the audio drivers.)

Megadeth Pack DLC currently available on the net.
Only works with TinyIso crack. (meaning the nocable.exe won't show them)
Simply create a Content folder inside the Rocksmith folder and extract the songs inside the Content folder.

Got the same issue, seems like after all the real tone cable is necessary? once i could play the whole first song without any problems but after the 2nd one again it stopped registering after a few notes and cannot play the rest of the song, it really sucks a lot. i hope maybe there will be an update

There's now a little over 40 extra songs being shared, can easily be found through torrents.

Just on the off chance that it is possible... Anyone know if you can you use the Rocksmith cable for anything else than playing Rocksmith (I assume it's not possible but hey might as well ask)?

I know that it works as normal cable - at least the AP Tuner detects it. I haven't tried it with anything else though.

Yep, it works as a regular cable. I've tried it in Guitar Rig and Amplitube with the asio4all driver and had no issues. The latency was 30ms or so.

Is it possible to play this with a normal guitar cable from the guitar to the instrument input on my front instrument input (X-Fi) and use ASIO?

EDIT: nvm, read the earlier page.

The fun will be in learning new songs and see how close to them I can get.

after playing i'd say it wont teach you the entire thing, it's more of a practice tool

it has lessons in it which will help learn things like bends/hammer offs etc etc

it will help you learn your way around the guitar, anchors, moving up and down the fret etc

it works side and side, if you wanna learn guitar i would recommend buying it but using it as a practice tool and for fun but i'd still focus on your basic lessons also

justinguitar

great tool though

It teaches you how to play specific songs and how to do certain techniques.

It's not a learn to play the guitar tool, it's a learn to play specific songs tool. Along the way you may learn to play the guitar yes, but that is more a result of you practicing. This game/tool is really great for getting used to the guitar and getting past the initial hard part as a total beginner, but if you want to learn to play the guitar, you should be combining this tool with either guitar lessons or reading/practicing on your own. Smile

Also, this tool does not point out to you when you're doing something the inefficient/wrong way as long as you hit the notes so you may learn bad habits. This is why you should be either taking lessons (to have someone point out to you when you're doing something wrong) or using Youtube videos/guides/various guitar theory stuff to learn the basics the right way.

I guess it all depends on the user and their proffered way of learning, everyone's different, not everyone has the time to sit in front of youtube or the money for lessons.. I've never picked up a guitar in my life but im hitting 85% accuracy on 4 of the initial single note songs..so id say its a very functional learning tool

Actual DLC or custom songs?
I believe what you should be looking for is the "Repacker". It should help you get what you want with the legit version. (Unless recent patches to the game changed that, I wouldn't know)

I bought it from iHEO for $28 .. http://www.neogaf.com/forum/showpost.php?p=82740429&postcount=17495

He was mentioned here before a long time ago and I bought Payday 2 and Rocksmith 2014 from him with no problems. It's due out like the 22nd or 23rd and if you want the legit version, I've not found anywhere else to buy it discounted, let alone for this cheap. Had no problems with the transaction at all. Dude seems to be straight up.. just don't screw him over by doing a charge back on PayPal and maybe this nice source of 50% off will stay around.

Question... I have a fucked up left arm, and thus I'm not actually able to play guitar properly (I can't finger the chords Sad) Does this game still require 2 hands, as it were, or is there a mode thats is like, strum only?

Id say you would need to hands to play it properly, even the really early lessons need the left hand to hold the one finger fret

Great game, got it working ..loving the chord tutorials
