TI OMAP 4470,2x Cortex A9 clocked at 1.5GHz, 1 gig of RAM and a PowerVR SGX544.
Basically, it's a Google Nexus with an 8MPx camera, why the hell does it cost more than the Galaxy S3 or the Note 2?

As a personal note, I believe Samsung is starting to pull off the same move as Apple, they saw they sell the most Android phones (do they, though?) and they start charging more for less.
In comparison to the upcoming Nexus 4 which is considerably more powerful and almost two times as cheaper, the TouchWiz on the SGP simply does not compare with the Nexus 4.

I wouldn't even be surprised if they would list that as a reason.

Is the sgx544 new ? maybe it's not power effecient so they had to couple it with a dual core.

It's still of the SGX54X series, thus as old, but it probably has two cores or better power efficiency.
On paper it sounds much better.
