He recommends going back to 3.55 first, but it should be okay going from 4.21 CFW. Just do it in RM to be on the safe side.

Sabin do you think it's wiser to wait... or is this the cfw we'll be using for some time like kmeaw has been. I don't wanna upgrade and the find a better cfw in a few days.

Rebug just has more goodies, there's nothing really "better" for the normal user. As for going from KMEAW, yes, that should be absolutely fine and it won't format your drive either so you shouldn't lose anything from the internal.

grabbing the downgrade files from rogero, i never had to downgrade before as im on an old phat ps3 so do i need to bother with de-hashing.

If you didn't enable QA flags it might be not be possible. But someone better experienced (as I'm still re-teaching myself as I haven't done anything PS3 related for quite some time) can confirm or deny the following.
But if you attempt to install https://dl.dropbox.com/u/64707444/Toggle%20QA/toggle_qa.pkg and see if it runs on 4.21 the PS3 may not beep and you won't get the icon under network settings with the button combo but install it and run it and then try to downgrade again.

I had to downgrade earlier to swap my Hard Drive over, but I had enabled QA flags on 3.55 before I updated.

right on! so is there a guide anywhere for jumping from kmeaw to this new cfw? seems like forever since i've done this and are all my games from internal and external still going to play or am i going to need to mess with eboots?

i used the 4.21 to 3.55 CFW and then used QA_toggle.pkg, its apparently downgrading me back to 3.55 kmeaw now so ill let you know if i manage to get back on CFW 4.21 1.09.

Well it worked and it was a waste of time really, i assumed by peoples responses that all my psn games would work again and titles that have been patched for 3.55 would work (journey patch) but nope.

Cracked psn games just needs resigning, there is a simple tool for that.

Probably the same with disc based games but it is better to put back the original files for them.

Damn, there are certain things you fucking never find when googling. I tried the psn proxy thing, but when i try to connect to psn it says "to use this feature, you must first download software" No fucking help google! This might mean 2 things; either it's a system update to 4.30 or it's a software for psn. I don't fucking know, and the net is no help :/
