I'm looking forward to the demise of SWTOR and Bioware...Sure, i feel bad for the people that will lose their jobs because of that. But, on the other hand look at how many indie studos appeared after such thing.
I just dont understand this move. Its asif EA are forced to go F2P but no one really wants to and their short sightness gets in the way of trying something really different with a game that has so much potential and is fun to play.
Restricting this much will only enrage people and have the opposite effect of what EA needs to do. Bring in people, give them reasons to pick up the game, play it and enjoy it so much that they want to buy cartell coins to further their character, ships etc
A shame about such an awesome game, in my opinion one of the best ever made...
Dont mess with God, he can impregnate your girlfriend/wife without taking his pants off!

Well to think of it, it's not the first time EA left a MMORPG for dead. Warhammer had some good things going on, but EA just seemed to put the thing on a respirator to slowly die when people started dropping.

Maybe they want it to fail as F2P so they can have an excuse and can "prove" that F2P model sucks so they can go back to subscription model.
Maybe, I doubt it. If they wanted the game to die they would basically just try to milk it as much as possible and not even introduce any kind of f2p model. I think its just plain short sightness, they're trying to copy other mmos that has succeded with f2p but some greedy bastards just dont understand it and so are trying to restrict it as much as possible.

this is retarded. the game failed as a pay to play, so they obviously need to attract f2p players, but you wont attract anyone if you make the game so feature-lite... players wont stay, the community will go down so less reason for people to bother buying shit from the stores (and naturally less people AROUND to buy shit from the store)... ugh...
i just think this is EA being really sour about having to turn their 'new' game into f2p so soon after launch..." we wanted this to be a huge success, but it wasnt, and now we'll be damned if these f2p leeches will get the full experience for free"... totally oblivious to the damage theyre doing to their PLAN to make this game profitable by going f2p to build up the motherfucking player base!! FUCK!
in short, was going to play, but now i doubt ill really be fucked unless someone ropes me into it they really have been too stupidly aggressive (in the WRONG way) in their f2p plans.
mmos dont have stories. unless you're interested in the thrilling story of the shopkeeper who wants you to collect 8 pairs of space-monkey balls for the pie hes making to take to an important gathering later that night...

Swtor has some interesting missions and while there are the usual grindy stuff you also ghet to do the following:
Spoiler:
in the sith warrior story line you get to do the mother of a snooty sith lord. They want the husband dead and so you get to do the mom, kill the husband and I dont remember if you actually get an option to kill the kid or not but you truly feel like an evil bastard

Some restrictions are ok, like general chat or even rest XP, but some other are ridiculous even if they were enforced in a traditional trial model. In F2P? These guys need serious mental help.
No storage, equipment limitations (SOE can also fuck themselves for this), one crafting skill (also "Crew skill that returns lockboxes do not return lockboxes. Instead, players are asked to subscribe to get full rewards", wow, just wow), 3 loot rolls per week (I would laugh, but I don't make fun of the mentally challenged), etc.
The crowning achievement in their retardedness is the quickbar limit. I'm using my 7$ key's free month and I need 3 full bars to fit all my skills.
So long SWTOR, you will not be missed. The only thing people will remember you for is the death of SWG. What a legacy to leave behind.

SWTOR surely has some great moments. I'm playing a warrior right now and had a few events where I could really get into the mood. Like during the force-vision on Tatooine, or the time when Jaessa joins the crew can be engaging. I'm sure all stories have moments like these.
So storywise, it can be good. I'm just not convinced that all this shenanigans is worth dealing with to experience them.
