OK guys i have been out of the "PS3 scene" for more than a year now so im a bit out of touch with that is happening. Iv read about the new Rogero CFW and that it's possible to downgrade now if you have a console that was 3.55 or less when it came out of the factory.

I have a 60 gigs phat so i should be OK there. I currently am on 4.25. What i want to know if it's possible to downgrade aside from an hardware method/soldering stuff. A simple yes or no will suffice. If it's only possible via hardware i wont even bother but if it can be done via software then i may consider it because there are a few games a i want to play. Thanks

I was in same boat earlier today but did some research. You have to open your box up, and at minimum cut one link and soldier two points to a relatively expensive chip. IMO it's not worth doing yourself, maybe worth it if you can find local modders at a good rate.. but I think if I were to pay for a modding, i'd get a new X360 slim and mod that!

Yes, pretty much Smile Like cyclone and I kept arguing with INTEL; some things aren't meant to be public and certainly not before their time. Right now we all have 4.21/25 CFW, which is awesome (believe me, I'm as happy as everyone else!) but the downside is that all the current games can already be played on 3.55 (with a few exceptions) - so a new CFW wasn't absolutely 100% *needed* .... now Sony has several MONTHS in which to discover the exploits and work on a way to resecure the system.

Bigger and better things are coming, so even though it's new and exciting.. don't immediately jump on the 4.21CFW bandwagon. I never bothered with Eboots and all that stuff... I know it wasn't much hassle... but it was still a bit of a hassle... and I'm lazy, rather just download, transfer, play Smile

I'll have a look see what I've missed since 2010.

Considering that i have zero confidence in my soldering skills , there is no way in hell that i would try doing this myself as chances that i screw up are very high Razz . I have a buddy who took classes in soldering though and could probably do it for me but even then it's just too much hassle.

And out of curiosity let's say you actually downgrade doing that. What happens if you want to go back "legit" so that you can play online ect ? Are you screwed forever after doing the soldering method ?

What kind of consoles do you both have? If it's a NOR (anything beyond CECHG; A-G are NAND) then you can easily get a ton of solderless solutions. Even the E3 flasher has a NOR clip (doesn't give you dual-boot then though).

your knowledge about 3.55 cfw is very outdated. only 2 games of those you listed weren't playable on 3.55.

it's been said already,because the update came right after lvl0 leak it probably won't fix that,but future patch,which will happen very soon

Actually if you read my posts instead of being so quick to critisize, you'll see that I never bothered with Eboots - I know full well that some of these games were playable on 3.55 WITH EBOOTS but I never used them, I have plain old kmeaw 3.55

So... tell me mister know-it-all, which of those games in my list are playable on my 3.55 WITHOUT ANY EBOOT MODIFICATION????

He was speaking about PSN that Sony will indeed block again in a few weeks when Sony updates the auth server. 4.30 uses a different passphrase.
