which was a disappointment because i wanted a gory, brutal hack and slasher and it didn't really play like that at all.

What game did you play then, bud? Because that's exactly what this is Very Happy

It's like Conan Very Happy

The 2003 (?) one? Then I'll probably like this. Smile

I remember playing this when it came out, was decent. Might have to pick it up again if it's not too expensive.

Doesn't beat the price Lolozaur mentioned though but I thought it should be mentioned, these guys tend to be pretty tough with copy protection unfortunately (Shogun 2 for example.) and various code protection (Or so I've understood it for those trying to make say a trainer for the game, usually results in Shogun deciding to crash, kinda like early LIVE titles.)

Would be nice with some sort of demo though, maybe things will be different with this game.

It supports (Besides being able to change resolution.) AA, mouse and keyboard controls plus intuitive gamepad support or some such, rest of it I'm unsure about but that's from the description at least.

" Key Features

A truly stunning graphical experience on PC
Viking on Steam will re-invigorate the game for 2012 with outstanding visuals taking full advantage of modern gaming hardware. Players can scale resolution, use anti-aliasing and other graphical effects according to the power of their PCs, for a truly stunning graphical experience. Viking: Battle For Asgard™ also supports play via gamepad, and includes fully re-mapped keyboard-and-mouse controls for PC gamers. "

for 15 dollars, no arrogance in this port. a 4 year old game for 30-40 bucks is what i expected, and i probably would not have bought it.

but its 15 bucks, so i did. Razz

I bought it and regret it. All text in the game is invisible making it impossible to play, and the game is capped at 30 fps.

i can cope with the fps cap, but the invisible text is effecting me too. you on nvidia? lets troubleshoot this shit.

my buddy has ATI and has no problems with ingame text.

So much for "taking advantage of modern gaming hardware" -- bastards. No game should ship with a framerate cap in this day and age Sad

no game should ship with a glaring issue with all nvidia cards. looks like everyone who plays this with an nvidia has no ingame text. judging from the community discussion and folks i've talked to, thats the issue.

pretty sure the folks who ported it are a relatively new studio from sega... so hopefully they fix this quick. Neutral

Yeah I use a Nvidia card.

seems to be the issue. check the steam discussion boards, the only people who have ingame text are ATI. :[

Damn.. I was able to get the configtool working (from Ali213's release) by using the steam_client/api/rld.ini files from a RLD cracked Steam release, but that's about it. Viking.exe doesn't do anything.
