					| I really tried to get into Fallout 3, but I found it a really abysmal game, slightly better than the plague named Oblivion. I tried New Vegas too and I think it's ok, but since I absolutely hate Gamebryo and the idea of the game doesn't interest me that much, I let it go. I'll probably try it again sometime, but I doubt the result will be different.

 It's damn shame.
I liked Fallout 3 too, but New Vegas was on another level entirely, less "atmosphere" overall but much better RPG aspects/writing/characters. |

 MOAR... because MOAR!

Don't get me wrong, I agree
. Hell, I've spent hundreds of hours in both the games, and I think I'm one of the few people here who actually don't dislike the Gamebryo.
Besides, as usually happens, mods will fix/restore/improve everything.

					| I enjoyed both FO3 and NV. I don't have anything really against the Engine, the UI on the other hand... just think we need a more exotic locale for the next one.

 Sigh

Anyone involved with Dragon Age 2, to the point they put it on their CV, deserves to be beheaded.

And like someone on the Codex pointed out: that guy, it's the one that almost fucked up NWN2.

					| Personally, I like New Vegas a lot more than Fallout 3. But for each, its own. I'm not saying that Fallout 3 is a bad game. Just that is not a Fallout game. It lacks the feel of the Fallout universe. Otherwise, is an excellent post-apocalyptic game that would have been great if it would start its own series.
Also Fallout 3 was more ambitious and seemed overpopulated. Like all the bloody East Coast survived in a way or another....

					| My problem with NV was the shoddy and bland world/level design. Everything looked and felt like an amateur mod. But the vanilla mechanics were much better than FO3 vanilla mechanics.
Also, the quests/writing of NV was far superior - but I just can't stand games that are drenched in bland aesthetics/atmosphere.

 Point being?

None of them make the game significantly less drab and bland.

					| Nor do they make it a Fallout game.
I honestly hope it's not Fallout 4. Give it a sub title like New Vegas or something, otherwise I'm gonna have a hard time approaching game as anything but Fallout again. And neither FO3 nor NV are Fallout. They lack the atmosphere and humour the classics had; not to mention that them being an FPS is just plain retarded. If you give me an FPS, I want to play it like one - if I aim at a head, I expect it to fucking hit the head. Fuck off with VATS; go back to isometric or let me aim myself.

And I agree with Casus: the writing in NV was much better. Still not Fallout, but a fine game; FO3 was just bland in every way to me and I still hate it for disgracing the Fallout name.
