The red for close combat and yellow for heavy is because I played to much spacehulk boardgame Smile Wanted my support to be blue, but I liked white better - because for me they are just medics.

Ok played some more hours with the mod and marathon mode - freakish many missions, my men are beginning to reach colonel status, and I havent even researched 3 things :/
Think ill try that impos diff instead and keep on the random stats for troopers.

Hey guys,
Did anyone solve the problem when FLT version is installed but when game is launched error message appears. "XCOMGame.exe - application error The application was unable to start correctly (0xc0000007b) " I have installed latest directx, and c+ patch, and vcard drivers,
anyone can help?
I even downloaded those updated files, but the error is the same..
Solved..
Just reinstall c++ 2010

Heavy is Red, Assault Green, White support, black Sniper. And when I have 2 of 1 class one with helm on and 1 off.

Woot got my DLC key finally, there was a technical issue which didn't sent me the second key. (Wok rulez Wink )

Damn im in a love & hate relationship with this game..

I still think its'way too broken & buggy - being one shoted in full cover,shooting throught hills and solid obejcts and missing those 80% chance to hit shots. (Also i have some bugs like soldiers being stuck on wounded forever).

Still i come back to play it xD. Damn i have this awesome sniper dude with 90 kills who just got psychic powers (damn if i were on iron man and he died.. it would be too frustrating xD) Despite that so far ive managed to lose 3 countries from the project..

Cover doesnt diminish damage. it's a static -40% chance to hit. If the hit still connects, it does the normal amount of damage.

I'd buy this game but only on sale. Not worth $50 for me.. it's buggy and some of it just doesn't add up.

I'm on the fence about which I like more, this one or the last UFO game.

I also use colours depending on class. Im playing normal-ironman and my sniper is a beast. He's killed at least 60 aliens so far. Give him double-tap and put him in an elevated position with Ghost Armor and watch him own.

Lost my first colonel yesterday. God damn that was a blow. "Voodoo" from Brazil was my medic and he got killed by a lucky grenade when already down on health. Those fucking aliens!

The Officer Training School purchase that allows your rookies to become instant squadies is very helpfull in making sure you have a balanced team of soldiers. I was stuck with 3 lieutanant or higher heavies and 2 supports (every assaullt and sniper had died up to that point) of which some were in the sickbay and I had to hire first 4 than an additional 3 rookies to make sure I could bring 6 soldiers on my next mission(s).

Luckily my end of month hit, plus I just sold some damaged stuff on grey market, so I had about 500 credits, so I got that Officer "skill" and got rewarded with instant 2 assaults and 2 snipers.

No no the feature remains in the files - but Firaxis didnt actually finish it, so its not balanced and some things might be broken.

Definitely agree. Having a blast with the game so far, 9 hours in. Snipers are mad OP, especially with double tap ability So Much Win

AYE! I've got my Colonel sniper and that Double Tap has often cleared out all opposition on its own .. so heh.. expect a nerf sometime Sad Still, I'm having an absolute blast with this and - as sacrilegious as this might sound - I think I'm actually starting to prefer the combat compared to the earlier games. Time Units just never sat all that right with me in the first place, I much prefer the Front Mission style actions. Sectopods and Commanders are really fucking annoying though Laughing

Again me guys. Did anyone had issue when game just hangs when enemy is sighted in missions? I already tried relaunch the game but the issue appears again. I try to load another save, the same.. Anyone?

Update: I guess this freeze issue appears only on "Brutes with plasma guns," could it be?

My biggest issue is that the game minimizes to the desktop every now but I can bring it back. But, I assume it's a Windows 8 issue.

My assault guy missed a 95% chance hit while he was standing NEXT TO THE GODDAMN ALIEN. Makes you want to go insane. Maybe they should change the % to something else. Like chance of hit: Bad, Good, Really good etc. Or not. Razz
