It's retail and Steam (Pretty sure Gamersgate and other sources rely on Steam, unless they use a retail version with digital activation, don't remember how Disciples 3 worked in this regard but I believe all three were used there.) however the games release date is on Tuesday so someone must have gotten a early (retail.) copy shipped and then uploaded that. Smile
(Or it leaked from some other source be it a warehouse or a game shop.)

EDIT: Or was it last Friday?
(And then Steam changed the date to accommodate US release dates.)

This game kicks my fucking ass on Normal. I can only field 3 units to begin with, while I'm going up against enemies fielding 6 or 7 on my 2nd turn? Add to that the fact that the undead have no fucking Initiative, meaning that the enemy ALWAYS grabs the bonus grids first, and you don't stand a flying fucking chance in hell, regardless of what units you field. Disappointed. Sad

Disciples - Reincarnation

Quote:

A true rebirth of the legendary series.
The Almighty has turned away from Nevendaar and its denizens. He is busy thinking about the fate of the world. Above Nevendaar, rent by perpetual wars, a new star flashed out. What will it bring with it? Who will claim its great power? Immerse in the struggle of four powerful races!

Features:

Unique visual style and magnificent gothic atmosphere in a new implementation.
Dramatic and intriguing plot, written by Ekaterina Stadnikova, the author of the most successful Disciples-themed novel “Precious Blood”
New combat and magic system. Dozens of new global spells
Totems and flags in the inventory and on the battlefield
Aquatic spaces with majestic ships and terrifying bosses
Over 180 hours of gameplay. Four companies; 27 large detailed missions, over 70 new side quests, significantly extending the main storyline
Over 200 new objects on land and sea; 13 new neutral units
Multiplayer in hot-seat mode and over the net. Playing for neutral units is now possible
Gaming editor to create your own campaigns.

EDIT: Well it seems Disciples III related but it's not named as such, interesting.

I think this is the "enhanced" edition of Renaissance with the Undead expansion. I've been looking forward to this for a long time. Play the shit out of Renaissance only because of the art style Smile

I liked the original Disciples III and the Mortis expansion but could finish neither due to poor support (Steam version apparently was much more focused on.) and various bugs and stability issues, apparently it wasn't too common but there were a number of known issues with the game. Smile

EDIT: That sounds good.

D3: Reincarnation - english version comming soon!

The translation is finished, and almost all the voice is already recorded; the English voiceover is being finished and implemented this week. (It's a completely new voiceover, as some may be delighted to hear. We can talk about the aesthetics of that later.)

It will take some time after that to publish the beta on Steam, through which it will be distributed to you good betatesters.

I know some people already have Steam keys for the Russian version of the game. -- And some may want to start testing the translated text before the beta is published. If you want to play with the Russian VO plus the English text, I'm happy to help. Just send me a message.

D3 codename "Rebirth" (officially titled "Disciples 3: Reincarnation") will be released on Steam after the betatesting period is complete. The publisher is Akella.

I really hated the new direction D3 went. Like they were trying to copy Heroes V and VI.
Old Disciples 1&2 were much much better.

I also dislike the new art direction. I mean, you have those beautiful artworks in the first two games and you come up with THAT in D3?!

I've had a couple of TBS that i liked pasionately: the Heroes series (which I've stopped playing it after the fourth game), the Age of Wonders series (rumor is that Triumph might be working on AOW3), Disciples, Warlords, MOO and the 5 Star General series.

All those series changed dramatically (usually in a bad way) or disappeared.

I love the art direction Sad Well I never actually played any of the Disciples games apart from D3 of course. I couldn't stand King's Bounty's cartoon style, Heroes V and VI was borderline OK. I just love western Gothic style, I like it a lot more than any other.

You can get the first two from GOG cheap! Play them and compare them (really, the price is the equivalent of a going to your favorite fast-food and it can go even lower if you get them on a sale week-end))

Don't worry. There will be a new edition with the Mountain Clans included. Probably it will be called the Mega Ultra Platinum Edition.

Scratch that: the studios that made the Disciples game were closed in May by Akella. Seems that Akella was disappointed by the sales and decided not to make the final addon.

Who had the bright idea to give to Akella the IP?!

I mean, look at King's Bounty. It's a really old IP that was done right. The boys at Akella took some from Heroes, some from Disciples and the fusion didn't worked that well. Now they made Reincarnation, which change some of the gameplay mechanics, but still nowhere near the old Disciples 2

I bought the gamersgate version. The game gets added to your steam library.
It's just not available to buy through steam. Weird situation.

Did Reloaded et al ever release Disciples 3 Reincarnation ? I bought Disciples 3 gold edition and really wish I hadn't because of all the problems with it, hence why I am a bit cautious about buying Reincarnation.

No, which is unfortunate since they pretty much redid the entire game and the addon with that version.
(Uses ActControl or what it was called.)

EDIT: Here's the images I took from the game in the screenshot thread.
