This game needs a patch. Why can't I select Mission Control with the arrow keys? Or "Start Mission" or some othe rmenu items. Why must I EXPLICITLY use that laggy fucking mouse.

And a heap of other things already mentioned in this thread. All valid.

Asus, B550, 3700X, 3060, 32GB.

ugh caved in, preorderd it on GMG with 25% off for 37,5 euros, i read mods will be supported so the dlc + free civ5 made this a reasanoble pricepoint. Will wait with a playthrough for a first patch dow. And hopefully some nice mods come around and it will get steam workshop. Game definatly needs some more maps Smile

I'm looking at the xcom wiki and max range for AR's, LMG's, pistols and Shotties is 27.

They all have the same range (snipers have 100). So I would think that solider stats are more important for hit-chance rather then the weapon itself. But that's kind of poopy since the stats are somewhat random on soldiers. Sad

There's a Wiki? What's the addy?

As I said in my opinion it's solid game in it's territory (console tbs) but it's more of Bear Gryll's situation - when there's no water to be found the piss tastes like best champagne. (That's my opinion about the score it gets in press).
And as I said I might change my mind later when I played it longer. Maybe it's better on Normal difficulty because I'm just derp.

I agree with you. As i wrote earlier, it's probably as good as these games will get nowadays. I am having fun playing it, but it's got nothing on the original(s) and it s made very simplified and action-based.

Apocalypse was a way better successor than this.

So how the fuck do you disable bombs? Tried to throw nades on the power grids, tried on the bomb, tried having four dudes stand next to them. No options to disarm pop up. :S

you need to stand aside the power grid/bomb to disable/defuse them, like you do to open a door.

1.8 GB, this is still using the new content format so it must have been very extensive even with UE3 usually containing only some few very large files.
(Here it contains like 4000 files or so if I remember correctly.)

What I mean is that those ~2 GB could have updated much more in total file size.

Haha, well since the movie data is like 8 GB it can't be more than 4 GB at most, however I just checked the altered files and it amounts to near 3.8 GB in total. Very Happy

The 1080p files were already included, but for some reason they used the 720p version of the movies.

Good post VonMisk, and I pretty much agree with all. It is a terrible xcom game imo, and a huge disappointment in that regard. I do not feeling that I'm playing an ufo game at all.

That said the game is decent, but it's just not a good ufo game, but overall that is okay. Because I love turn based games, and it's a decent game that I will probably finish.

The combat, ui and lack of proper inventory makes my blood boil though, I just cannot get into it at all. Oh and the interceptions, oh dear god why. Also the base management, sigh. But as long as I think of it as not an xcom game, I think I will be fine, and the story and interactions is different and somewhat enjoyable. I especially enjoyed the scene when we shot down our first ufo.

Ok. I played it some longer and it definitely got a lot better. A fun tactics like game but still subpar to the true TBS. Unfortunately I don't feel any atmosphere of oppresion or imminent doom. It gets somehow easy on classic with ironman when you get the hang of it. And the more I see that interception screen the more I laugh - it's look like taken from some budget game.

The first time I encountered one it destroyed the entire side of a building and took half the HP from one of my max-rank assaults wearing titan armor.
