Creative Assembly’s Viking: Battle for Asgard coming to Steam next week
2008’s Viking: Battle for Asgard was the Creative Assembly’s second ever console game - a third-person hack-and-slash hash at squeezing the developer’s trademark scale down the pipe of a story-driven action game.
^ Would be neat if they made some improvements for today's hardware (the 360 version already had large battles, now make them 10 times bigger for PC ), but bleh if it's just a straight port.
The port has been developed by Hardlight Studio, Sega’s new West Midlands team, which is headed up by former Codemasters exec Sion Lenton. Hardlight appear to have given the rather creaky Viking a complete graphical overhaul.
Holy shit, really? Aw man.. if I had the cash I'd be all over this Really, really enjoyed it on the 360 and it's nice that we're getting a "graphical overhaul" too and not just a whambamfuckyouma'am port.
clearly cash grab after all thor and avenger movies, but who will say no to more games
before you go claiming it isnt movie game, or even have anything in common, yes i know, but it have same mythology and theme, i somewhat doubt they just port it out of blue now

By that logic () Thor and The Avengers are based on Viking: Battle For Asgard, since they have the same "mythology and theme" and came after the original game FFS... no, they're nothing alike and no, the game - on any platform - is not "cash grab because of unrelated movies"
Truth be told i forgot i had this game on PS3, bought it used at gamestop for 7 bucks. i remember it being meh.. which was a disappointment because i wanted a gory, brutal hack and slasher and it didn't really play like that at all. My preconceptions probably ruined it for me, mayhap ill fire up the PS3 if i get bored...... after i play Dishonored, XCOM, NG+ on Borderlands 2.... who am i kidding i'll probably never get around to it.

that was worst argument on this forum ever, period, you should do research based on viking mythology, thor, and asgard, its cash grab because everyone who saw thor and there are millions who did, will recognize that word and in this age of derps, that alone will be enough to make them buy the game

You are the dumbest person on this forum ever, period, you should do yourself a favour and stop talking.

Are you telling me they let Sion Lenton anywhere near a game after all the turds he's created?
I wouldn't let that guy clean my toilet.
"I think Call of Duty resonates because it's believable and relatable," Sledgehammer Games cofounder Michael Condrey says.
Believable and relatable...Yep, sounds like Call of Duty

Googling his name brings up "Sion Lenton is a liar" as one of the top results. I only remember him from the shitty Operation Flashpoint remake.

Worth a download certainly, I read and saw a lot about the game in 2008 when it was first released but I've forgotten quite a bit, will be interesting to see how this "graphically overhauled" game does on PC.
(Hopefully they don't forget about controls and interface PC improvements, ha ha ha.)
Compare some 360 launch title to a recent release; even if the hardware's the same, the devs have still learned to squeeze more performance out of it over the years.

So why don't we have tissues called Thor. Or hand lotion. Or anal lubricant. Derps should be all over that.
