Hey Max, I have yet another question for you 
Its illegal to own a Butterfly Knife in Canada right? And its illegal to carry a butterfly knife right? same as a gun charge right?
I ask cuz my buddy just got back from wasaga beach the other day and he came back with like 15, he got a really good deal at a little weapon shop up there. Its along the strip or along that road that goes by the liquer store and beer store, I think its a few doors up from Banana's still. Anyway, they sell sick ass brass knuckles, spring loaded switch blades - which my dad has told me are illegal as he has 5 or 6 from his youth and has been arrested for carrying one around, and its a worse charge than a butterfly right?(those a dirty still  ) - butterfly knives and buncha other shit that ive always thought was illegal to buy/sell
How can they sell brass knuckles and butterfly knives and shit? And if i am legally allowed to buy em, why can't i carry them.
Also, u ever seen the rockers with spiked necklaces and bracelets and shit? Well, I have nuff of em and thats part of my wardrobe. Anyway, the spikes have to be under 3 inches or its illegal right? Or can they be over 3 inches? Cuz i made 7 inch spikes at work a month or 2 ago and i just found em the other day...i wanna attach em to my necklace and shit, but I don't wanna get booked for wearing em

It's illegal to import, sell, buy, provide, barter, give, lend, rent, send, transport, ship, distribute or deliver butterfly knives, brass knucks, etc. in Canada.
That place must be breaking the law.

A little gander through the criminal code looks like the maximum for possession of a prohibited weapon (first offence) is 10 yrs in the clink (no minimum), for 2nd: 10 years but with a 1 yr minimum, and for 3rd offense: 10 yrs with a 2 yr less a day minimum.
Don't know if I'd want to be walking around with one.
Maybe they have been modified so that
"has a blade that opens automatically by gravity or centrifugal force or by hand pressure applied to a button, spring or other device in or attached to the handle of the knife"
is no longer true.

I don't need to or want to. And i don't carry weapons except my hands and feet But I know many ppl that do and I was interested as to whether they are legal or not to buy, and if u can buy em, why can't u carry em
And I have been considering something max said a while back to me, that u can carry like a machete type blade, as long as its in a sheath and not concealed. The reason I would perfer to have something like on me in certain situations is because, well, let me give u an example.
I stopped in at the bank one day after i got off work (pay day). Anyway, im standing in line cause i had some next business to deal with, and this Indian guy came in - well dressed and everything. But he had a fuckin scimitar, u know those old arabian swords? it wasnt as large, more like a dagger...no guard for the razor sharp blade, it was simply attached to his belt next to his cell phone lol It kinda tripped me out cuz what if i was makin a large withdrawl, something bad just happened to the guy, and he decides to rob me with that big dirty knife of his? fuck that...Im gunna go over to local cop station and confirm what max said still, get it in writing or some kinda legal reference...
I know its considered a religious item or whatever, but my religion dictates that wearing my athame around my neck is what ur supposed to do - mind u, if u cant cuz u'll get booked, its not a "sin" . An athame is a double-sided blade, usually fancy, but can be basic and its supposed to extend from ur neckline to just below ur belly button - that differs from "religion" to "religion" tho. Anyway, i tried it once, declared it as a religious item, proved that i wasnt lying - cop phoned my wife and my parents, yet he still arrested me. The charges were dropped however, but i didnt get my athame back and its sacred and i was told if i was caught trying to "pull that shit again" they'd throw whatever charges the could at me...

and don't take my words out of context, i said TECHNICALLY it would be legal and it would be... BUT use your common sense, someone walking down the street or into a bank with a fucking sword on him will SURELY cause a few 911 calls and the cops will want to know why you see the need to walk around with a weapon.
do this in scarborough and we'll think you are part of a gang.

haha, I dont care...fuck that guy, when I went up there like a month ago, he was being a bitch and selling them to my buddies at $50 a knife!! they are like at most $10 bucks for real...and there was a cop in the store, a bike cop...thats why one of my buddies didnt buy the brass knuckles, cuz he thought he was gunna get booked, but other ppl bought all sorts of knives. they sold batons, plastic handled nunchucs (metal and wood are illegal in canada unless u can prove u train with them and if u do, u have to have it in ur gear bag, in the trunk if ur carrying them going to class - otherwise they are illegal, so ive been told), brass knuckles, butterfly knives, spring-loaded switch blades, good shit man - but bad for an area like wasaga especially on the beach. Enough fights up there when its crowded at certain times of the year.
Thats why I asked anyway...and i don't think max has jurisdiction out in wasaga, he's metro |

Depends how fast he can juk ppl man and Im no fool either, it was a nice blade still, i wouldnt want to have to fight him, especially if he has the advantage and starts out behind me. BUT, if I had a quick 1-2 butterfly knives, then its a different story if he would have started something. I flip em out real fast |

Go check out the Hachi O Zan (or Zahn) store in mississsagua...umm its south of the Hoffland's Distro centre, I THINK, not sure tho. Or really, check out any martial arts supply store (i think they're might be a hachi or next one on yonge, like 2 blocks down from that weed shop, not the friendly stranger, the other one THC something I think), they usually carry good shit for cheap, thats where I get all my weapons
