Good game, finished one playthrough on the xbox and it was well worth going through.

The game has alot of issues though, mainly a retarded amount of clipping. Enemies coming out of walls in the "action sequences" or whatever they are called, your soldiers take reaction shots through walls and lots of other weird stuff. Losing your soldier when they are in full cover and a muton takes a shot through three walls sucks, big time.

The variety of maps are small, lots of reusing the same maps in missions.

The AI seems kinda retarded. Feels like there is some kind of aggro range (like in wow or something) where you keep facing groups of three aliens and their friends, who are just outside viewing range, are doing nothing until you get to them. This might be because I only tried playing on normal difficulty, but if not, it sucks big time.

Oh well. Time to give it another go on hardest difficulty with iron man mode on. Lets get it on!

Lucky you - 3 more hours for the pc master race Cool

The AI retardation will surely be the same - there are just more retards shooting at you with more health. But hey lots of great games have had it that way.
The clipping sucks, and ya the preview videos have shown that as well. Surprised about the maps, they talked about there being some 80 different types and from those 80 the maps gets sewn together.

But so what did you like about the game? (cant lose everyone here on Nforce to the negative troll neitherworld).

btw maybe you should wait for inevitable release day patch before starting up a new game?

The RPS review did raise a number of the same issues. They are legitimate gripes that seem to stem almost universally from it being first and foremost a console game. I think the general consensus amongst reviews is that it is still a great game regardless, it's just not a perfect game (and certainly lacking in some respects compared to its predecessor).

So they haven't fixed the shooting through walls issue. I have also heard (from press release preview) that on impossible difficulty there is hidden modifier to "chance to hit" that will make you miss even when you are point blank and have 98% to hit. Also some shit about saving the hit result so save-load doesn't work on missed shots- so everytime when you have missed and reloaded you will now always miss that shot.

Heh, 12 GB game and 8.75 of it is pre-made BIK movies. Very Happy

It doesn't really mean anything and they are 1080 which is nice but that's a lot of cutscenes.

It seems like most reviews I've seen is landing around 90%. That makes it one of those "must buy" games in my opinion. If not because of the game itself then because the devs deserve the revenue for making a good product. In this day and age releasing a turn-based game with top production values deserves recognition in my opinion. Next up I want a remake of Silent Storm!

Well, it means they blew alot of resources on making cutscenes, when it would have been better spent on developing the game and expanding it's features. Ingame cutscenes would have been just as good. Smile
